Women and men looking to make their mark on fashion and their health without leaving the house shop with AmeriMark Holdings. Through its direct marketing subsidiaries, the company offers women's apparel, shoes, cosmetics, and jewelry, as well as health-related items. The AmeriMark Direct subsidiary sells wares via its website and more than a half-dozen catalogs, including Anthony Richards, Beauty Boutique, Complements, Essentials, Healthy Living, Time for Me, FeelGood Store, and Windsor Collection. Its Dr. Leonard's Healthcare subsidiary reaches customers through the Dr. Leonard's and Carol Wright Gifts catalogs. With roots reaching back to 1969, AmeriMark is owned by private equity firm JH Partners.
AmeriMark has one of the largest databases for peddling products to aging adults. It boasts some 6 million active customers over age 55. Mail-orders generate about half of AmeriMark's revenues; phone orders account for roughly 35% and Internet 15%. Despite the recession, AmeriMark reported that 2009 was a record year, with overall sales rising nearly 25% over 2008.
Ensuring that orders are received and processed in an efficient manner, AmeriMark combined its own contact center operations with those of subsidiary Dr. Leonard's in 2009. The two groups were joined in 2009 in a 15,000-sq.-ft. facility in Edison, New Jersey, and all of their mail, phone, and Internet orders are handled here. (AmeriMark's mail operations were previously located in Cleveland, Ohio, and Dr. Leonard's had a smaller space in Edison.) In addition to consolidating the purchasing departments, AmeriMark decided to relocate its creative and merchandising teams into the same Edison building.
