In a typical day I am in the office no later than 7am. My duties are varied and no two days are a like. Some days I work on insurance claims; anything from an auto loss to a building fire or perhaps it's a slip and fall at a customer location. Other days you spend the entire day working on a discovery request or interrogatories. I have had to attend trial for civil suits to labor disputes and help prep employees for their depositions. Once a quarter my duties shift to prepping for the board of directors meetings and helping General Counsel gather and report on what our department has accomplished. Some days it is all of the above and prioritization becomes the focus.
This job has allowed me to grow they encourage continuing education and taking on new roles.
The management style here is best described as laid back with a focus. Employees are allowed to perform (or not) and each is rewarded for their investment in the company and their participation. The company believes in giving back to the community and provides numerous opportunities for their employees to join from blood drives, coat/gift donations to stocking the local food shelf to name just a few.
