District Manager Job Description:
A District Manager is an effective communicator whose primary focus is ensuring in-store execution of projects by effective staffing and training. The District Manager is responsible for associate development and training within assigned district and is the key communicator with assigned customer managers.
TYPE OF SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The District Manager is a decision making position that reports directly to the Regional Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
*Provide customer's District Managers and store General Managers with the following: competitive shopping information, monthly sales information, promotional, marketing and training events, monthly promotional letter and all other communication as directed
*Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all Anderson Merchandisers associates, store employees, and outside contacts
*Require planning and organization on a daily basis for the completion of projects
*Achieve payroll, execution and sales KPIs
*Managing, planning and scheduling hours for Retail Merchandising Specialists and Retail Merchandisers
*Monitor all databases and websites to identify exceptions and follow up with affected Retail Merchandising Specialists and Retail Merchandisers to ensure project completion
*Lead and direct all training for store employees and Anderson associates, scheduling and conducting events, programs and initiatives
*Work closely with RM's to identify high performing individuals and provide them with career development opportunities
*Partner with Regional Managers in the coaching and development of LDA's and Field Training Specialists
*The DM will communicate goals, set priorities and set schedule for LDAs and Field Training Specialists assigned to their District
*Utilize LDAs and Field Training Specialists to increase training and execution at the store level based on current needs
*Respond immediately to all account concerns, applying the Sundown Rule
*Complete Store Report Card on store visits. Visit every territory monthly
*Is responsible for all Retail Media Specialists and Retail Media Merchandisers' training of merchandising initiatives.
*Responsible for staffing within district
*Work closely with Sales HR Specialist to identify and hire associates
*Provide sales priorities and direction for the Retail Merchandising Specialists and Retail Merchandisers
*Communicate field feedback and solutions to Regional Manager to improve operation and communication efficiencies and effectiveness
*Complete all direct report performance evaluations
*Other duties/projects as assigned or requested
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS, including but not limited to the following:
*Must be able to lift objects and product up to a maximum of 50 lbs with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects/products up to 35 lbs, in addition the ability to lift heavy objects up to 100 lbs with assistance from another associate
*Work could be performed while sitting, standing or walking
*Work performed will include fine manipulation of hands and/or fingers, as well as repetitive hand action. It will additionally involve bending, twisting, squatting and climbing, as well as upper and lower body mobility.
*Ability to work flexible schedule
*Some extensive travel and overnight stays are required.
*Demonstrate technical efficiency on computer, Microsoft Office Word, Excel and SMART device.
*High School Equivalency or equivalency exam required
*Valid driver's license is required as travel to additional locations may be necessary
*Automobile liability insurance is required to be maintained
