Sales Lead (Former Employee) – Arlington, VA – January 20, 2018
Everyone sucks and aren't effective, very gossipy. Only will promote you if the store is severely understaffed or if you're best friends with SM, or DM. Very cliquey wants to go out for drinks with you.
Sales Associate (Current Employee) – Robinson Township, PA – January 20, 2018
The company was really great it work for. They always gave me time off when I needed. The workers and the managers were really nice. The store was always really clean. The work was pretty easy and the customers were really nice.
SALES ASSOCAITE (Former Employee) – Lancaster, PA – January 18, 2018
In a typical day you are on your feet for 4 - 8 a day and there isn't usually a lot of business. Management was lacking although the manger did have a great attention to detail. The customers were stuck up and entitled. The hardest part of the job was being on your feet for hours at a time. The most enjoyable part was sometimes they had a good selection of clothes.
SALES ASSOCIATE (Former Employee) – New Orleans, LA – January 18, 2018
A typical day working here was definitely busy but everyone helped each other. Everyone was responsible for cleaning up and greeting customers with a smile. Management was very understanding and always communicated with employees. The hardest part of the job was working in the dressing room because it would get so busy and crowded with clothes that had to be put back on the racks for customers and the rooms would get full to the max. The most enjoyable part was helping a customer find her right size jeans :).
Sales/Stock/Visual Associate (Former Employee) – Garden City, NY – January 17, 2018
I work here for a few years and I loved it. Of course every job has its pro and cons but for the most part I enjoyed working there. I made a few friends I still stay in contact with and even go visit my friends that still work there. We got great discounts and occasionally free stuff. The only reason I left is because I was starting a family and needed something with benefits, consistent hours, and of course more money
Phenomenal co-workers and energized work environment
Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Arlington, VA – January 16, 2018
If there were no special promotions and it was a weekday, the work day would typically be relaxed. If we had a special sale, then the day was rather busy but totally tolerable. The management was helpful and very understanding. The hardest part of the job was usually dealing with difficult customers and the most enjoyable part was helping and spending time with coworkers
Co- Manager- Operations/ Revenue Generation (Former Employee) – New York, NY – January 16, 2018
Loft stands for amazing values, however the people employed by the company don't always portray core values and standards. There were very few minorities in position of management. There was also underlying favoritism among management. Team engagement sucked, because not everyone was pulling there weight or wanted to gossip and create uncomfortable work situations. Horrible on-boarding and assimilation. Poor scheduling, and our Store Manager was racist to say the least.
Experiences differ depending on the store and the management. In general the staff is awesome but culture depends on the management and if you do not have a good manager its hard to get a directions and get tasks done. Also needs to be better communications from corporate to the stores. Fast pace environment but can be very rewarding when you get things done.
This job started out as being wonderful and easy... once our original store manager left, everything went downhill. The store was ran like a dictatorship! The store was always left looking terrible because of petty/childish employees. The manager the took over our store was very prejudice and had tons of EEOCs filed against her but upper management never did anything about it. It ended up being too negative for me to continue to work there which was sad because I really loved that job.
Our manager was a positive force in the workplace. She always praised the employees for a job well-done. She set an example by being a hard worker. She was goal-oriented and led by example. It was a great place to work.
Stylist (Current Employee) – New York, NY – January 11, 2018
My experience with Ann Inc. has been nothing short of incredible. I've had the pleasure of working at two top locations, for two of the top 5 stores in the company. Both stores had talented and hard-working management teams, and associates that collaborated with one another in a familial and friendly manner. It's a pleasure to be part of the Ann Inc. team.
