Ann Taylor was a very good job with room for growth and advancement until the company was taken by a new CEO who changed many, many practices and proceedures, no more full-time employees no more than 20 hours for everyone except store managers, no more paid vacations (because part-timers never got paid vacations). I enjoyed working at the Loft division moreso than Ann Taylor. A lot of fun, great atmosphere and great client service.

My days at Ann Talor are usually very Busy, but fun at the same time. My Clients/ Patients are number one to me as well as my co- workers, at Ann we work as a team and as long as we are a team, that alone makes my day go by Smoothly.

As a sales associate we help customers with different types over wear and making sure that the outfit is right for them. I managed the department as a well and clean environment. This job was chaotic. We were able to provide excellent customer service despite incessant fighting behind the scenes. Human Resources does not escalate situations very well. The company attorney will bully you into not filing a lawsuit. There is no job security and benefits are unheard unless you ask. You'll find yourself eating your lunch on the floor because management fails to make an adequate schedule with the appropriate number of employees per shift. – less

This position is much the same as any other retail position. The associate must help the customer and deal with any problems, The associate is at the will of management and basically any other associate with seniority. The hardest part of the job was working without a break. The best part was the ability to socialize with customers.

Too many layers within the company. Every product type was delegated to different individual therefore you were only expose to one product category. It became very monotonous work.

I enjoyed the Staff. They were very committed and hardworking bunch. My experience with them was I wanted to grow within the Company and they made promises that they didn't stand by. I watched others have a difficult time being promoted as well.

Lots of places to learn different skills but ALOT of political squabbling going on.

Can't complain about employees or management, they feel like family. They don't have very good payroll which means no full time employees other than store and co-manager. Also, they are not very generous with breaks

This was my first experience working in retail. I always try to learn and grow, but could not do that by working for Ann Taylor Loft.There was absolutely no growth and the most you can work is 30 hours for part time pay. There is no sercurity so the associates have to be on constantly watch the customes and client face. Client face is when the employees have a set goal they have to met before their shift is over. This company was great to work for, in terms of growing and learning as a manager. Working in a high volume, fast paced environment helped me really gain great experience in the sales and customer service aspect of retail.

The best job ever they gave a great discount of 40% off to all employees to wear the clothes. Relaxed environment and friendly people to work.
