Conservative, narrow minded, stressful place to work

Pros: i enjoyed some people i worked with
Cons: some individuals were great to work with
Anne Arundel County is caught in a time warp. Their schools are underfunded and purposely to put this burden on the teachers. In 2011 the superintendent received a 16% salary increase while the teachers did not receive anything but a cost of living increase. I had entirley too many special eudcation children in my classroom with no peer models as other – more...  neighboring school systems do have. I was told there was no money for field trips and my students were not allowed to have specials like gyme, art, music....The entire early childhood special education program was way behind current research and if you disagreed with the status quo then you were marked to be slowly removed from the school system by trumped up charges. – less

As as substitute teacher, I was never short of opportunities for work
Substitute Teacher (Former Employee), Anne Arundel County –
A great job, in terms that you get to work when you are available. If you make enough appearances at a school they will contact you directly to be a substitute teacher instead of using the automated system.
