Apex provides publishing services to many of the largest and most respected publishers in North America and Europe. We are looking for bright, self-starters who can join our prepress publishing solutions team as Project Managers.
Project Managers are responsible for managing book production cycles from receipt of original manuscripts through product delivery, ensuring that customers receive high-quality solutions on time, and within budget.
Apex Project Managers, for the prepress division, are responsible for managing the production of books and journals from the receipt of a manuscript to the delivery of final products. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Project managers coordinate with authors, publishers, and internal production staff (in the U.S. and India) to ensure the completion of projects on time and within the project budget. This position requires excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to learn new technologies, and strong editorial knowledge.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Project Management, as well as a dedication to getting the job done. He/she will have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. The candidate must have the ability to monitor project schedule and budget, through project life cycle. Also desired is a candidate that is skilled at lessons learned and cost/schedule analysis.
Required Education & Experience
- 4+ years experience in project management
- Experience with publishing processes.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, XML/HTML are a plus.
- Strong editorial knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's Degree required, 3.8 GPA minimum.
