Be flexible...so you can pull the knife out of your back
Utility Worker (Former Employee) –  Centennial, CODecember 7, 2017
Work hard, bend over backwards, exhaust all reasonable ideas to solve a problem and management still isn't happy. They will never have your back or go out on a limb in your defense. They say they will support you, but that is one of the many lies. Arapahoe County is very much every man for himself because of this. Things will never change unless management is replaced. Until then - revolving door...
Pros
It's a paycheck
Cons
It's not enough of one to put up with all of the aggravaton

The most corrupt place to work.
Utility Worker (Former Employee) –  Aurora, CONovember 5, 2017
It will take a 3rd party entity to fix Arapahoe County. It’s more than a mess; it’s criminal. The whole thing needs to be gutted and replaced with competent management and workers who actually just do their work instead of standing around talking terribly about each other, and scheming ways to get new employees fired. This position is open yet again! How many times does it have to happen before you figure out that there is no leadership and a bully attitude amongst all the employees who are no longer on probation? Colorado government agencies are completely broken, and only a 3rd party has a chance to fix it.

This position allowed me to work autonomously. The supervision was minimal and I was fully empowered. The position was eliminated by a governmental reorganization.

The low pay and clique atmosphere is not worth working for.
Deputy Sheriff (Former Employee) –  Arapahoe County, COAugust 2, 2017
The sheriff department is a terrible place to work. Look at the terrible pay for a large metro Sheriff department. This should tell you a lot. Management in the higher levels are unprofessional and only look after themselves. Huge turnover rate--and you wonder why no one wants to stay at the ACSO.

Elections judge (Current Employee) –  Centennial, COMarch 8, 2017
This position was as a ballot judge. County Clerk and Recorder provided excellent training to perform the duties during the 2016 election. Voters were well taken care of and judges received excellent direction and support. Great company.

Utility Worker (Former Employee) –  Englewood, CODecember 9, 2016
Good pay, decent co-workers. Shady management. If you work hard, have your own ideas, earn respect and don't need someone to hold your hand you'll have a target on your back. They'll smile to your face while putting a knife in your back. Sometimes money isn't worth the hassle. Even after being forced to resign I have a creepy ex who won't let me get a job.
Pros
Good pay and benefits
Cons
Horrible management
