First Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Louisville, KY – April 23, 2012
Pros: flexible scheduling
Cons: having to work in various stores.
I enjoyed working for Arby's the most of all my jobs. It was a face paced work environment which made the days go by quickly. I loved the face to face interaction with the customers. It was more than satisfactory for me because I was a manager who worked along side my employees which gave them respect for me, as I had for them. The hardest part of this – more... job was finding the right people to make good employees. – less
Cook/Maintenance (Current Employee), Oxford,Al – April 19, 2012
Pros: being a leader and working with co-workers
Cons: not being challenged and no pay increases
A typical day at work starts out pretty steady,I usually try and clean as much as I can before we get busy because working at a clean station provides me with room and I can work at my best. What I have learned is how to manage my own business and how to treat customers because the customer is extremely important. Management is ok although it could – more... be better but they do the best job they can. My co-workers are great because they have brighten my day so many times especially when im having a rough day.The hardest part of the job is sometimes dealing with rude customers and the non-challenging part of the job, The most enjoyable part of the job is working with my co-workers and seeing the regular customers you know. – less
Team Member (Current Employee), Saint Paul, MN – April 10, 2012
A typical day is either being assigned as cashier or order taker (drive thru). But everyone does a little bit of everything also. I help out other employees and customers as needed. I also check the lobby; clean and stock if needed. Another thing I do, probably once a day, is handle customer complaints; whether it's the sandwich is made wrong or the – more... bathrooms are messy.
I learned that the food industry is an under appreciated field. Also that people are never 100% happy and that I (or anyone else in this business) will never make everyone happy. Also that there are some great people out there that do show their appreciation and value us for what we do. And some people even look us as someone they can talk to.
My management team is pretty great overall. There is some miscommunications sometimes but it's taken care of right away once discovered. Also they are very flexible when it comes to working with people's schedules and willing to help out whenever it is asked of them. Also they are all hard working individuals. They also understand that we as team members get as stressed out as they do and we all need breaks periodically.
My coworkers are also great overall. They take a lot from the customers and understand that everyone gets stressed out. And are willing to help eachother out.
The hardest part of my job is the roller-coaster of emotions some of the customers have and the fact that they take it out on us workers usually. Also that no matter what you do for some people they will never be satisfied.
The most enjoyable part of my job is getting to work with the people I do on a daily basis. Also my regular customers make the day enjoyable and are always happy to see us. – less
Cashier (Former Employee), San Antonio,Tx – March 7, 2012
Pros: able to maintain school schedule.
Cons: fast food position= horrible!
This job is okay if you are a student or if you just need something part-time. Not really good if you need something full time or trying to make a career out of it. The manager would schedule only 2 employees at points in time (1 being a shift lead and one employee)
Challenging, unrewarding and poor support from upper management and administration.
Shift Manager (Former Employee), Louisville Kentucky – January 17, 2012
Pros: values
Cons: overall poor leadership and support.
I can identify the challenges in teaching and coaching someone. I am someone that has a challenging time learning something new quickly and then executing what I learned immediately and accurately. But to be instructed once on a new system of new procedures and policies and expected to immediately, consistently and accurately execute daily without slipup – more... is concerning. Then when there was a mistake, verbal abuse resulted from upper management and administration without support, constructive criticism and coaching with development and motivation. – less

Pros: employees took pride in there jobs
The company's menu is a great change from the other competitors. The food is a quality experience in fast food dining and.The atmosphere while working there was like working as a family as well as a coheisive team. The co-workers were willing to make the dining experience for the patrons pleasant and our patrons were mostly regulars.
Crew Member (Former Employee), Battle Creek MI – November 14, 2011

Cashier (Former Employee), Greenfield, WI – November 11, 2011
Pros: good advancement
Cons: unhealthy, ate too much arby's
Constant customer face to face relations. Great job to have as a starting point.Unfortunately I needed to leave and focus on schooling.Otherwise would have had a lot of opportunities of advancement in the restaurant. If your a people person you'd love this job.
