APV has been in business over 40 years providing doors and door related products including hardware and electronic access control systems throughout Virginia and Maryland. Offices with stocking warehouses are located in Ashland and Newport News. Products are targeted for education, healthcare, military, and hospitality facilities and are sold to general contractors for new construction and directly to facilities after construction.
The Sales Representative will target facility owners and managers in the Hampton Roads area. They will work out of our Newport News location with about 25% of their time in the office and 75% outside the office. Rep will be responsible for calling on and servicing existing customer base and for developing new customers. APV believes in long-term relationships and doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of the customer. In a competitive market, any advantage is to the individual that provides the best service and can think outside the box.
You are selling solutions. Customers typically need our products to address a problem so a thorough knowledge of the products is necessary. APV will provide some training including out-of-town factory training, but some basic knowledge of commercial doors is necessary. A strong support team in purchasing, accounting, and shipping provide the sales rep the ability to focus on selling.
- Some experience with doors and the construction industry
- Proven record in sales
