This is a great place to work. The residents in the building are really nice once you get to know them and it will make you want to go the extra mile to help them. The community manager is very approachable and you will enjoy the rest of the staff as well.

A typical day at the office for me is pretty slow. I get along with all my coworkers very well. Everyone is nice, friendly and just great people to work with. The office could be a little bit busier but other that its really a great place to work.

Great company to work for once upon a time. Unfortunately I had the displeasure of experiencing the company falling apart during my last year and a half there.

I enjoyed my work at the company. I supervised 4 accountants. I reviewed the financial statements my accountants prepared for month end close.

A typical day at Archstone, started with a friendly smile from each of my coworkers. I would thoroughly walk the property to ensure it was clean and well kept, and up to Archstone Standards. I would head back to the office to meet with my manager to determine different marketing strategies, and advertisement. I would oversea Leasing and help coordinate – more... filing and office maintenance. I would tour prospective clients within the community, while guiding and teaching the newer leasing consultants. I would assist in the training department as well. Share my knowledge of customer service and teach different strategies on how to approach clients. – less

Archstone was my home for the past 9 years, and would have continued to be my home if it was not sold to its competitors.

This was a place where you could truly shine and make an impact within the organization. It was an environment in which you would not be afraid to fail. You were allowed to take risk and achieve great goals.

Terrible hours. Terrible management. Tons of work and responsibility and low pay.

I highly recommend AGAINST applying for a job here unless you have a desire to spend 10+ hours a day at work and have no social/family life, do your manager's job in addition to your own, and/or work EVERY single weekend (FULL DAYS).

Archstone taught me much about the value in repeatedly delivering outstanding customer service; it is the very basis that separated the organization from the competition.

Management and coworkers were always a pleasure to work with, and provided nothing but the most supportive team efforts at all times, especially when situations became difficult.

At the property I was at it was very, very busy. I liked the chaos, it kept me on my toes. It has 400 units, fabulous service team!!

Manager, horrible. Throughs all her work at you and lies. She told my co worker her boss above her wouldn't pay for her for a lease and then the next week she said she would pay her (so if her boss really said she couldnt, – more... why all of a sudden would she be able to....)
Pay was very good, LOW hourly but commission was great if you worked hard. -She lies to residents and will brainwash resident to make them think they deserved to be charged for something they shouldn't.

Absolutely no advancement higher than a leasing consultant unless you have a bachelor degree to make $18/hr.

Thank goodness this property will be an Avalon and hopefully the manager will be gone. – less

Archstone was recently acquired by competitors and we are in the process of transitioning. Most of the headquarters staff positioning will be eliminated and our communities will be integrated into the accquiring companies.

I loved working for them! Not just a job, but a family. I worked in corporate directly monitoring large projects, employee training, and budgets.

Management engaged me in projects that were outside the scope of my responsibilities. This allowed me to contribute more and improve my skill set. You have to be willing, proactive, and take initiative to do more and work hard.

I have enjoyed working for Archstone; however, during my tenure there has been a lot unethical practices that has taken place. My biggest gripe is with upper management, i do not believe that everyone was/has been given a fair chance to be promoted.

Initally a Great Company, many promises of promoting from within, however when it came to filling positions it was more about who you knew. Sad to say that positions were filled not based on the employees perfromance, but who wanted to keep their personal preferences regardless of employees performance.

Working for Archstone has been a dream. It is so rare to find an employer that promotes work life balance and has core values that encourage innovation, honesty and ethics and camaraderie. My team is made up of brilliant, honest, hard-working people who have great personalities.

Great company, great people. Impossible to advance without a degree.

I have fit into the family culture at Archstone since the first moment I stepped in the door. My typical day includes communicating with residents, delegating tasks to on-site managers and providing any needed assitance, providing assistance to two Vice President's as well as five Operations Managers. I answer resident phone calls, send packages to – more... communities, schedule meetings, write memo's and produce monthly bonuses. My co-workers are a joy to be around and we all are like familiy. – less

I enjoyed my time at Archstone.

Although some weeks required some overtime, I was happy to do it.

The management was great and was truly interested in my growth and development.

They truly developed me and earned my loyalty.

There was a high sense of comraderie and teamwork
