Productive and fast pace environment
Admin Assistant (Former Employee), Lynchburg, VAMarch 21, 2015
Pros: gaining experience, meeting new contacts
I learned a lot with the help of supportive admins. I did the normal duties such as faxing, scanning, copying, writing in travel expenses, compliance matrix for a multimillion dollar proposal that passed. The management was ok, it was incredibly competitive and that made it more difficult to advance because people who had been there for a long time were determined to push anyone out of their way to make it to the top. I always learned to work together and advance together, so being pushed down to the very bottom, wasn't the best feeling, especially since I worked really hard and was an asset for the company. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new people and gaining contacts for references for jobs.

Great place to work with room to grow.
Nuclear Manufacture/warehouse (Former Employee), Richland, WADecember 16, 2014
Had a great time at this job. I traveled, which i enjoy and met many different people. I learned various things about the energy market and a lot about the nuclear business. I found the nuclear safety to be very successful yet unnerving. management was easy and nice to deal with, but not very family oriented.

Difficult atmosphere
Training Specialist (Former Employee), VirginiaAugust 12, 2014
Pros: compensation, flexible schedule
Cons: management, unstable environment
The flexible schedule allowed me to work from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a half-hour for lunch (which I rarely took). I worked with the learning management system entering class attendance and updating and maintaining training records. I also worked with subject matter experts to develop training using the ADDIE model.

The organization is management "top-heavy" and there is little room for advancement unless you are an engineer or have a relative who works at the company. The hardest part of the job was the intimidation and bullying by management and co-workers which is accepted or overlooked (sometimes even encouraged). Human Resources supports management at all costs and those who report abuse are terminated.

The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to work with some very knowledgeable people, unfortunately they were seldom recognized as such which is why the organization has such a high turnover.

A place to work without many opportunities for development or mobility
Engineer (Current Employee), Lynchburg, VAJuly 1, 2014
Pros: flexible hours, good compensation
There are not currently many opportunities for movement or development within the company, especially for employees without a lot of experience. The locations available for working are also not very desirable for single people without families.
