Used to be a good Place.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Janesville, WINovember 14, 2017
All management cares about is money. They no longer care about the employee, just about making money. The management team also does not understand how FMLA laws work. Managers cannot keep private information that is supposed to be private, even to the point of sharing with fired employees.
Due to poor management decisions, things have gone down hill. There is no clear direction and an ever shrinking workforce is expected to do more and more work.
Instead of fixing issues, they blame others for stealing employees.
If you don't agree or have a different opinion, or question how things are done, you have a bad attitude, or are labeled disgruntled.
They have core values, but mostly they are just decorations for the meeting rooms.

Lead Machinist (Former Employee) –  Brillion, WIOctober 15, 2017
Great place to work, nice equipment, challenging work rates but meet able. Down fall of Ariens is they have the wrong people in the key positions. If they could make these changes, Ariens Company would be very successful.
Pros
Excellent rebates on equipment
Cons
Health insurances, Company bonuses

Not a fun place to work
Assembler (Former Employee) –  Brillion, WIOctober 11, 2017
Not treated fairly. Management unfair HR is unfair and very rude. Also they have core values that they do not follow . I would not recommend working there you can work hard as you want and you never will get higher pay no matter what you do. You have to know someone to move up in the company . I had nothing but a bed experience.
Pros
vacation
Cons
short bracks

Very high paced work place. The atmosphere and fellow employees were fun to be around and the management allowed you to speak your mind to them if needed.

Overall a pretty good place to work. High speed assembly facilities which require employees to stay on task. Great product comes out of the facilities.

Tractor Assembly (Former Employee) –  Brillion, WIAugust 22, 2017
Very long, busy hours. Difficult to keep up with full time employees. Very short breaks, had to keep lunch box by my station just so I was able to get too my food before it was time to get back to work. Do not recommend.

Excellent company with good hours and benefits
Finishing Operator/Powder Painter (Current Employee) –  Brillion, WIJuly 23, 2017
The company is great to work for with great hours and benefits. The job can be stressful because of the fast paced work day and sometimes its hard to work for someone who favors people and lets them get away with anything and everything. Its hard to get ahead in the company also.
Another down side, only two ten minute breaks during an 8-10 hour shift, even when its 100 degrees inside.

Change for the Best
Manager (Current Employee) –  Janesville, WIJune 19, 2017
There has been a lot of change in the Janesville location over the pst 18 months - change for the best. You will read reviews (most from pervious employees) about leadership, change, instability, etc. These brands lacked investment and leadership for several years and were "stuck". The business is going through Positive change and investing in the customer and the experience. There is a strong team remaining that will excel in the market. I love the family atmosphere and core values. I have many good friends at work and respect everyone I work with. Casual, empowering environment. Lots of growth opportunity. Work with different brands in different industries with different customers. Provides lots of variety and opportunity. I am excited about the future!
Pros
Casual, Empwering culture, Core values, Family environment, leadership
Cons
Lots of work to do to catch up, In Grainger building even though no longer owned by them

Customer Service Rep (Former Employee) –  Janesville, WIJune 19, 2017
Arien's is a small family style business, in the sense that few people work in the office and it can be a close nit group. The management style is a little secretive and not sharing what is going on in the company unless it has something to do with Charities or donations. Loved working with the people though.
Pros
close nit family like people
Cons

Failing Company
Clerk (Former Employee) –  Janesville, WIJune 13, 2017
Very unstable work environment, they have had many layoffs within the last year. People go to work every day wondering if they will be walked out and no longer have a job. Horrible management. Also horrible management of resources, as the company is failing and need to lay people off they are having the offices painted and redecorated. I had great expectations for this company when I started, but as time went by they came crashing down.

Total Rewards Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Brillion, WIJune 10, 2017
Wonderful people and culture; great opportunities to learn and grow within the business. Although turnover was high due to the seasonality of the company, it created a resilient workforce of loyal employees. Ariens Company gave back to the community in many ways, including building a STEM program inside Brillion Elementary.

Unstable but has potential
Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Brillion, WIJune 5, 2017
Poor decision making and the good decisions get vetoed. Lots of turnover in management so they never progress, improve or reach goals since the vision changes with each new manager/director. Lots of old timers that have never worked anywhere else so there is the we've always done it that way attitude. Hard to achieve change.

Too many layoffs.

Benefits are terrible and annual raises are very low.

Discount program is decent.

If you like making jokes then this is not your place to work. In the assembly area they are more worried about getting the product out the dorlor than their employees.

Machine Operator (Former Employee) –  Brillion, WIApril 5, 2017
All i can say is dont do it. They say one thing and do another. Unless you have a relative that is a higher up you will never get promoted. Or unless that is you are a very good butt kisser. Then this is the place for you. The harder you work the more work you get and are expected to do that everyday. With nothing for you in the end but stuck in the same dead end job. I would never tell anyone to work here.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Managment. Favortism. Low pay

ariens is the worst company I have ever worked for.
they say you will work 7:30 to 4:30
then come out and say its mandatory 12 hour shifts m-f with 8 hour shifts on saturdays.
management doesn't do anything for there employees. the team lead treats everyone like they are nothing.
employees are great - all fun to work with.
hardest part of the job is dealing with the management. do not know how to run the company and do not care about their employees. do not apply with this company.
Pros
free food to make up for forcing us to work 60-70 hours
Cons
management, HR does nothing to fix anything. very rude.
