A work day would involve road trips to patient homes where education would take place with the patient/family regarding the disease process, home infusion therapy as ordered by the MD and patient/family interaction based on the individual need.
Further daily needs would include telephonic information obtained from existing patient's and co-workers which could vary from acute needs to planning for future visits.
I learned to prioritize, listen and respond in critical need situations as well as to interface with doctor's and other health professionals on a day-to-day basis.
The most enjoyable part of the business was the interaction with patient's and families to see health and wellness resumed.
The travel was the most difficult part of the job.
