Area Manager/Autonomous Maintenance Pillar Owner, Mebane, NC - March 2, 2017
Quickly, upon beginning my work at Armacell I found that the work force there is as solid and caring group of people that enjoy exceeding any expectations you put on them. The benefits are as good as you will find anywhere in this economic climate and the United Health Care program they have is easy to use and access. Upper management has changes way too many times in the past two years creating a concern for "who will go next" environment that can be distracting. As a 24/7 operation, most of the salaried group will put in a minimum of 60 hrs a week but the group is good about rotating the weekend responsibilities among themselves. There is a painful but progressive move to evolve the culture of their plant facilities to a world class manufacturing way of life that, after a 2 year crawl in start-up, is now taking hold and improving all aspects safety, quality, cost and delivery. Some of the greatest challenges are poor equipment reliability and weak production forecasting.
