Great Staff and Co-workers, Wonderful Patients
Medical Records Technician (Former Employee) –  Gulfport, MSOctober 4, 2015
This is a great place to work. The management is supportive and your co-workers are very friendly and professional. The facility runs like a well balanced team. I would not expect less from a majority of Veteran employees. The patients are also a joy to work with and care for.
Pros
Wonderful patients, cooperative staff, caring management
Cons
Demanding hours, Location prone to flooding

LPN (Current Employee) –  Gulfport, MSDecember 22, 2014
Working with veterans of foreign wars and twenty year plus veterans of the United States military is rewarding. The facility is beautiful and of top quality. Co-workers are well educated in their positions and qualified for any job asked of them. Management shows little regard for employees or incorporation of life with employment issues. Retribution is a common practice with management of this facility. Turn over rate is very high. This quickly becomes the hardest part of this job. Enjoy the residents and being able to be a part of their lives.
Pros
benefits are exceptional. honor to give back to residents.
Cons
poor scheduling, disregard for employees life/employment issues, retribution for infractions is common

Listening to the advice of the residents of the Home.
Medical Support Assistant, GS (Former Employee) –  Gulfport, MSSeptember 18, 2013
Gathered the report of the residents and their needs, getting special instructions if needed, following up on their needs and performing the everyday duties, etc. Had to learn and improved greatly on the importance of teamwork, strong positive communication, and interacting with the residents with their care and concerns. When the residents would pass away...it was sometimes difficult but assisting the residents with their social, physical, mental, and emotional welfare was rewarding to me.
Pros
assisting the residents with their everyday and individual needs
Cons
when they passed away or were disappointed in not meeting a need or goal of theirs.
