Family friendly
TRAFFIC & PRODUCTION MANAGER (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – March 18, 2013
Pros: family first
Cons: no real career advancement
A great place to work and raise a family. I didn't have family in town and they were always very flexible when I needed to work from home because of an illness or doctors appt. Not the place you want to be if you want to advance your career.

Great Mission and staff that are passionate about the Mission.
Development Coordinator/ Administrative Assistant (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CA – February 19, 2013
I believe that Non-Profit is one of the most challenging industries. The staff at the Arthritis Foundation are passionate about the Mission. A typical day involves interacting with customers, as well as donors on various levels.

Collaboration and variety
Intern (Current Employee), San Diego, CA – January 5, 2013
My work at the Arthritis Foundation includes grant writing, fundraising, and event planning. Before I started at the Arthritis Foundation there was no established grant writing procedure and no current grants being pursed. I created an extensive, easy to use grant writing process that can be used after I leave. In addition to creating the grant writing – more... process and applying for grants, I worked on the largest, most profitable fundraising event of the year, the Jingle Bell Run/Walk. This 2,000 person race required extensive planning four months prior to the event. Due to the limiting nature of nonprofit work I learned to wear many hats and adapt to working on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. – less

Productive place to volunteer at
Volunteer (Former Employee), Houston, TX – July 15, 2012
Cons: no breaks
This was just a volunteer position. All I had to do is basically answer the phone, jot down information from patient wanting information on arthritis. Print copies, stuffed bags and/or envelopes, and stamped envelopes.

Volunteer
VOLUNTEER (Former Employee), Houston, TX – May 8, 2012
I volunteered answering phone. Taking information down when an arthritis patient wanted information on arthritis, exercises for arthritis, drug programs, etc... I then faxed information to National Arthritis Foundation. Also did little projects such as made bags; out items in bags to give away at the arthritis walk. Also helped out with some office – more... duties; copying, stuffing and stamping envelopes, This was just a volunteer position. – less
