PROCESS ENGINEER

Outstanding opportunity with a quality metal fabricating facility located in Streetsboro, OH. Join a team of dedicated professionals as a Process Engineer.

JOB SUMMARY
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing processes, control plans, PFMEA and all other aspects of APQP to support new product launch as well as existing production. Create drawings and work instructions for the shop floor, assisting with the input of the ERP System (Routings, BOM, etc…), manage the ECN process, cell design/ layout, time studies/ standards, and assist production with continuous improvement ideas.

Functions may include product engineering, manufacturing engineering, skilled trades, and environmental compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead APQP and Manufacturing Review for new product launches. Work with cross functional groups (sales, customer service, manufacturing, materials, quality) to ensure orderly introduction of new or modified products and/or processes. Establish equipment, machine and tooling requirements for new products, new processes, and existing manufacturing modifications.

Support new process concepts, advanced manufacturing systems, lean manufacturing systems, data acquisition solutions, and custom designed machinery and equipment. Responsible for the design, development, procurement, installation, implementation, functional tryout, and operating procedures for new and/or improved processes necessary for manufacturing.

Continually analyze machine downtime, machine capabilities and provide Engineering solutions to maximize machine uptime and variable expense reduction.

Input into the Production Folders as a result of the manufacturing review process the bill of materials and routing sequences required for part production and costing.

Lead tooling/fixturing design and build.

Develop/ Design manufacturing cell’s, Work Instructions, Processes, Create Standards, Control Plans, Time Studies.

Responsible for the ECN Process – Interface with all departments to complete ECN’s.

Monitoring a new, revised or existing program/process from launch to end of program (New

Product Launches, Shop Floor Production Projects)

Assist the group with the development of current and new processes.

Work with customers in resolving engineering/estimating issues on new projects and to be able to help the customer design their parts when needed.

Participate in and contribute to Continuous Improvement methodology initiatives.

Employee is responsible for complete customer satisfaction through the quality of their own work.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering/CAD Technicians

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum of an Associate Degree in an engineering related field preferred

Experience: 5-10 years or equivalent combination of experience and education

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Products, Auto-CAD, Solid Modeling Experience

Special Requirements:
Demonstration of leadership qualities with analytical skills, disciplined, agile, and works with a proactive team oriented approach.

Knowledge of product equipment within the manufacturing and engineering processes.

Demonstrated experience in implementing continuous improvement methodologies.

Ability to provide accurate, professional and informative assistance when working with customers, coworkers, and staff that promotes good will and openness.

Ability to manage conflict and maintain positive personal relationships which encourage openness.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical prints and specifications
