Great working with automated machinery. Very little training and work load on Team Leaders compared to rest of staff is unfair.

Assembly Line and Inspector (Current Employee), Statesville, NCJune 21, 2013
Pros: decent income, healthcare
Cons: short breaks, hours of work
A typical at work can be very interesting especially when we have new co-workers come in to train, sometimes they stay and there are times when they leave after lunch but overall it is a good place to work if you are trying to take care a family. I have learned that if you work hard and do your job, you can learn several things about working with people – more... and at the same time learn who to cope with them as well. The hardest part about working at ASMO can be standing in one place for a period of time. and addition to that is you can enjoy the conversation with people learning about their culture, family issues and growth when it comes to raising them, and what it takes to make a automotive part for a car very interesting. – less

I love my family and working at ASMO gives no family time
Head Technician (Current Employee), Greenville, NCJanuary 21, 2013
I operate a 500 and 125 ton press everyday. I do all daily maintenance every day to my machines. On the job i turn a roll of metal into a housing for a radiator fan motor. I maintain 13 dies for production of the items. Management at ASMO has its ups and downs. Everyone gets along in our department. We have been together for 6 years. The hardest part – more... of my job is not having time with my family. I work 13 out of 14 days every two weeks. – less

IN GENERAL ASMO IS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK WITH MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVANCEMENT AND DEDICATED MANAGEMENT.
ASSISTANT MANAGER (Former Employee), Statesville, NCJanuary 10, 2013
Pros: excellent benefits and pay.
Cons: constant break down of machinery.
A GREAT PLACE TO WORK WHERE YOU COULD LEARN MANY AND EXCITING THINGS FROM THE JAPANESE. ASMO WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF THEIR EMPLOYEES. WORKING FOR ASMO WAS A CHALLENGE FOR ME AS I WAS PLACED IN MANY DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS TO CORRECT ISSUES, BUT THAT WAS A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE. I FEEL THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF THE JOB – more... WAS MEETING NEW CO-WORKERS AND FORMING MANY FRIENDSHIPS. – less

Productive fast paced work environment though sometimes stalled from machine breakdowns.
Welder (Former Employee), Statesville, NCOctober 23, 2012
Begin welding until switching over to packing or machine breaks down and unraviling coppers wire ensues until machine is fixed. I learned how to weld and how to use a bubble wrapping machine for shipping product. Managment was availible though there was not much time to learn the job no room for mistakes. Co workers were respectable and helpful the – more... hardest part of the job was keeping up and learning the job duties and having accuracy in the beginning. The most enjoyable part of the job was working as a team to accomplish the overall goal. – less
