We need someone to cover hearings, meetings, depositions and arbitrations in the Albany area and also have the keyboarding skills necessary to produce the transcript from the digital audio recording.
We will train the right person to setup a Sony dm-146 digital recorder with microphones and backup system. We will also show you how to take notes, as well as to obtain all the necessary details such as names, addresses of the parties and correct spellings. Attention to detail is a must, ability to multi-task, and organization is very important. You should have at least a 80 wpm typing speed as you will be expected to type the prooceedings that you record.
For the most part the people that we have in these positions are people with music/band experience but that is not to say it is a requirement it is definitely helpful with the equipment end of this position. If you are afraid or intimidated by attorneys this is not the job for you. These cases are very interesting, highly confidential and always something different.
You must be able to qualify for a notary examination (which we will pay for) so that you are able to swear witnesses in. We allow for meal disbursement, travel and hotel accomodations when necessary.
