Student Intern, Kissimmee, FL - January 30, 2015
While I was there I got hands on experience grossing and embedding patient tissue. the management is easy to speak to and willing to help resolve any problems that may result on a day to day basis. A typical day begins by removing the tissue from the processor and embedding it, then it goes to microtomy to be sectioned and mounted on slides. the slides are then run through the automatic stainer, cover slipped, and checked for quality before being sent to the pathologist for review. In the afternoons patient tissue is grossed and placed in the processor overnight to be embedded the next morning.
