Start of day review the job for the day. Load and prepare materials. Check materials and contact customer before going to job site. At job site do a tool box safety meeting and set up safety precautions. Coordinate installers and electricians to start building system. Build System. Check system is working properly and is to customers satisfaction before returning to office location. Clean and prepare vehicles for following day and loading jobs for next day if jobs are prepared.

Good-natured culture that offers a lot of freedom and independence
System Design Specialist (Current Employee) –  Norristown, PANovember 28, 2014
The company was a startup only five or so years ago and is quickly growing. Most of the people are friendly and good-natured. The job as a system designer offers a lot of freedom, but can feel a little isolated as you are own your own most of the time.
Pros
work from home, mostly indepedent
Cons
can feel isolated

Customer experience focused environment
Manager of Field Operations (Former Employee) –  Middletown, NYApril 30, 2014
They have high expectations for their employees and can be very demanding at times. It is a work environment for self motivated detail oriented people who do not need recognition for their efforts.

If you seek a challenge and want an opportunity to learn the solar industry and work hard, your success will only be limited by your effort.
Pros
competitive wages, benefits, industry growth and promotion from within

Exciting, fast paced company with lots of room for growth
Operations (Current Employee) –  Baltimore, MDSeptember 30, 2013
Astrum is a rapidly growing company in an exciting industry.

The small but expanding company means the office culture is informal and fun but committed to hard, efficient work. For office employees, workday start and end times are flexible and dress is business casual.

The growing nature of the solar industry means there are frequent changes to employees' week-to-week duties. There's always something new to learn. The growing nature of the business means there are always opportunities to try new positions and move and advance in your career. Management recognizes and promotes hard-working problem solvers.

Could possibly be the worst working environment in the country
Operations (Former Employee) –  Annapolis Junction, MDJuly 16, 2013
NO company advancement
NO pay increases
Always being lied to
3 Massive lay offs in a short lifetime
If you are not in a management role you do not matter
You pay will always be inaccurate if you get paid at all
NO HR in place
Upper Management does not get along
This company has a very bad name in the solar business
This company is dead broke and cannot pay employees all the time
This was the worst company I have ever worked for
The environment that has been created by management is very dismal and people after getting hired quit very quickly

ONLY TAKE A JOB HERE IF YOU HAVE TO, DO NOT TAKE THE JOB IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS
Cons
not enough typing space

great people to work with
Sales (Current Employee) –  MarylandOctober 25, 2013
Everyone at Astrum works hard and slackers leave quickly. Strong sense that we're working as part of a team. Don't socialize with people outside of work, but at work, everyone is respectful and nice.
Have learned alot about renewable energy! Such a great field to be in!
Compensation is fair. Most people get quarterly bonuses.
Communication from management was bad, but recently improved.
Pros
great co-workers
Cons
managing my time and workload
