To plan and teach related and shop activities in the welding curriculum to include the areas of layout, blueprint reading, fabrication, oxy-fuel welding and cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux-core arc welding with self and gas shielded wires, inspection and testing, and welding math. Related duties include curriculum development and course revision; maintenance of supplies, shop facilities and equipment; participation in divisional and departmental activities as required to further the educational program.

Minimum Requirements: To obtain Ohio Department of Education Adult Education Permit. This position is responsible for the delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning, and the on-going development of curriculum and learning strategies which meet the needs of students and employers. Must be competent in the following processes: Thermal cutting, Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). Must be able to relate successfully with student and staff of diverse cultural, social and educational backgrounds. Must be able to communicate effectively through both oral and written means.
Qualifications: Must have formal training, completion of Associate degree; or apprenticeship level and Bachelor of Science preferred. Must be a journeyman level welder with a minimum of five (5) years of recent occupational work experience as a welder or metal fabricator using a variety of welding processes, positions, and materials. Recent teaching/training experience at the secondary and/or post-secondary level is desirable. AWS CWI and/or CWE certification. Current Certified Welding Educator/Certified Welding Inspector (CWE/CWI) experience or certification is desirable. Experience using database, email, excel and word software preferred. Submit a clear FBI/BCI background check.
