Productive family oriented environment
Business Intelligence Analyst (Former Employee), Lake Forest, CA – April 10, 2013
Pros: parking lot lunches
Cons: company closed
I liked my working at Aurora because every day I worked on something new (a report request or project) therefore I was always learning or enhancing a process. Also, I got to interact closely with so many different people. Most of who were managers who cared about their staff and their work. Some challenges ware to understand the business process for – more... each department. Aurora used several systems and they did not interact with each other so I spent a lot of time chasing data. Working with the users was also a challenge because some were not technical so communication was very important in explaining new processes. – less

I worked there for 10 years. I liked it, although I did find the work demanding at times. It was a great company when it was viable.

Productive and fun work place
Foreclosure Prevention Specialist (Former Employee), Scottsbluff, NE – January 2, 2013
Pros: incentive pay & the people
Cons: monitored call scores, the incentive pay guidelines
Typical day at work - assisted customers with delinquent mortgage accounts, reviewed for possible workout programs to help bring their accounts current. I gained knowledge within the mortgage industry. Management was good & were very apt to following the policies and procedures. The hardest part of the job was calling current month owing accounts and – more... the borrowers were upset about that. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people I worked with internally – less

good company
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Scottsbluff, NE – November 1, 2012
The pay was good, the benifits were good. The training was a little slack. We worked as part of teams, and had goals we had to meet. Had to read scripts verbatim and was docked half our score when we missed a word.

Great People - Unfortunate Circumstances
Senior Executive Assistant (Former Employee), New York, NY – August 13, 2012
Pros: great people and salary
Cons: company was sold
I liked the people I supported and the work I did on a day to day basis. It was unfortunate that the company operations were primarily in the Denver, Colorado area and when the firm was purchased, they closed the NY operation.

Data Entry, Plans, Collections
Foreclosure Prevention Specialist II (Former Employee), Scottsbluff, NE – July 19, 2012
Pros: i learned even more about the industry
Cons: getting people to understand that you are there to help them.
I learned that people get upset and you let it roll off of you. I learned about the doss programs, Collections for borrowers house payments. Data entry, computer skills, more information on excel, My Co-workers did exactly the same thing I did at differing expertise. The hardest part was dealing with frustrated borrowers who didn't have funds to pay – more... their payments. The most enjoyable part was assisting the borrower where they wanted to go. – less

Productive workplace for improving your business knowledge and skills, but there was a lack of mentorship and management support
Business Reporting Analyst (Former Employee), Littleton, CO – July 18, 2012
Pros: great learning experience and allowed me to acquire new skills
Cons: lack of mentorship and management support
A typical day at work involves generating daily management reports, writing business requirements for new processes and facilitating meetings. At Aurora Bank, I learned how to develop business proposals/requirements, test and automate processes and implement process improvements based on business analysis. Management as a whole did not provide much – more... training, knowledge or have a clear understanding of how to effectively manage daily tasks or new projects assigned to them. Much of the work was passed on to my co-workers and myself to determine a solution. However, this did allow me the opportunity to improve my skills and become more efficient in my position. The hardest part of the job was trying to determine what was expected of me since management expectations and my job duties would change from week to week. The most enjoyable and rewarding part of the job for me was working with IT and implementing new processes that had a positive impact on the business. – less

Was a great place to work with good oportunity for professional growth
Customer Relationship Manager (Former Employee), Scottsbluff, NE – July 5, 2012
A typical day at work consisted of checking voice-mails, returning calls, and reviewing documents. I learned a lot from this company from learning how to read a mortgage payment history, to learning servicing and/or collections restrictions on bankruptcies. Management teams were fair, I was able to attend school part-time and work full-time with management – more... working with my schedule most of the time for school. My co-workers were great and there was an environment similar to that of a family. The hardest part of the job was having to explain to customers that there isn't any options for them to be able to keep their home in a way that helps them understand too. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to tell my customers that we have been able to approve them for a workout option to keep their home. – less

Foreclosure prevention representative
Foreclosure Prevention Specialist (Former Employee), Indianapolis, IN – July 2, 2012
Pros: pay and benefits
Cons: sold to nationstar and downsizing.
Helping customers in producing required documents for loss mitigation options. The hardest part of the job was advising them they didn't qualify for any of the options. Each team worked well together. My co workers were always there to answer questions and very friendly.

Overall great place to work
Investigator (Current Employee), Littleton, CO – April 27, 2012
Pros: flexible, relaxed atmosphere
Cons: company closing
Aurora is very flexible, understands that employees have personal obligations outside of work and works with them to accomodate. Aurora looks out for their employees the best they can. Unfortunately, the bank has been bought by another company and is being closed.
