Lies Lies and more Lies
Technician (Former Employee) –  Carlstadt, NJJanuary 6, 2017
Nice family owned business but the son is now running the show and he is a racist and quack. He looked st his medical license for performing plastic surgery that wasn't approved. As for the job, they make the pay structure almost impossible to understand that you give up and accept it. In order to make good money you have to work massive amounts of OT. Other then that it's a great job with good benefits, 401K, and profit sharing.

Finance (Former Employee) –  Mountain View, CADecember 26, 2016
Before you waste your time trying to submit a resume, ask your self this:

1) How good is my credit
2) Do I have a criminal record

If you are trying to apply for any position in the finance dept they will run a credit and background on you. Some people are victims of circumstances such as company buyouts and lay offs, medical, family etc. They do not take this into consideration. If you were to get hurt and be off work and the bills went to collections and eventually your credit went down..They will consider this as being irresponsible and will not let you touch their finance team. They figure if you can't hold your own, what makes you think you will be a good candidate with their money? Criminal record...everyone made dumb mistakes in the past. They don't care.. If you are any of the above, don't waste your time.
Pros
Nice office, Close to lightrail and expwy

route driver (Former Employee) –  Denver, CODecember 16, 2015
You will rarely, if ever, receive your commissions or bonuses in new sales. Call duty is not compensated for, and it's long hours when that comes. Advancement is not really possible once you know how to repair all the equipment because turnover usually makes it to where only a few people (I was one of them) know how to do it. I wouldn't recommend staying for longer than 6 months. If you like the work, let AutoChlor train you, and apply at eco lab. They actual pay people commissions, and they have a third party moving all the product for you. At AutoChlor, being a route driver is at least 70% delivery boy work. I saw a man who worked for the company for 24 years get a 5 thousand dollar retirement check when the company made millions during that same year. Trust me, you don't want to work for these people for any period of time.
Pros
Nice customers
Cons
not getting payed on what was agreed on.

A fun and rewarding place to work!
Sales and Service Manager (Current Employee) –  Los AngelesNovember 24, 2013
Auto Chlor System is a great place to work. There have been some management changes in the recent past which addresses some of the negative comments above. The management now at Auto Chlor seems to have their house in order and things have become a lot more efficient and fun. This is a great place to work if you are willing to work hard to satisfy the customer. Opportunities for advancement are available if you are willing to put the work in.
I have worked for larger corporate company's in the past (Anheuser Busch) and the difference is the level of time and service giving to each customer.
Pros
Good benefits, recognition of achievement, great training, and a fun working environment.
Cons
Some heavy lifting and possible long hours (true with any job in which you wish to excel)

Unprofessional and Lies
Service (Former Employee) –  Oakley, CAMarch 8, 2014
Worked for this company for over a year. The first couple of months was ok, long hours and alot of work. After the 90 days, it gradually went down hill. The manager starts yelling, belittling, and treating me like a dog. Everyday something is always wrong and he vents it out on the workers.

I have never worked for a company with such little regard for their employees. And the whole family and work balance is a Joke. Your wife or child injured or sent to ER it doesn't matter you're eexpected to continue working.

If you want a Career, Stay Away from Auto Chlor.
Pros
Decent pay and benefits.
Cons
Poor Unprofessional Management, long hours, no one appreciates you, and of course NO Advancements.

Excellent Company, Great Hours, Perfect balance of Work & Family
SSR (Current Employee) –  Mountain View, CAOctober 31, 2013
This company is great to work for, excellent benefit options, great management, and plenty of opportunity for advancement. There is a really great balance between working hours and family life, all the route tech's go onto an oncall schedule for weekends and evenings but you are only on-call once every 4-6 weeks which means big bucks on over time!! The company is only open Mondays-Fridays can't beat getting our weekends off! Regardless of what position I’ve seen people start in if they work hard the advancement options are endless, there’s opportunities to work in the office, supervisors, sales, management and even their corporate office. The owners and management really treat us employee's like family. The company has summer picnics, end of year parties, referral programs, profit sharing plan, multiple benefit plans, company vehicles, awards and more. I can honestly say I am a truly happy to come to work everyday.
Pros
Pay, appreciation, benefits, company vehicle, advacement potential, great coworkers

I recently started working at Auto-Chlor. So far, it has been a great experience. The company provides amazing management support to all levels within the organization. The staff are very professional and take pride in providing the best possible service and support to their customers. Also, Auto-Chlor provides a great compensation and benefits package as well as professional growth opportunities.

Commercial dishwasher service lead tech (Former Employee) –  Manteca, CAMarch 14, 2016
The mechanical aspect of the job is really good and rewarding, especially troubleshooting. You are asked to upsell product that is overly expensive and not worth it. You are also asked to pick up money from customers or disrupt their service. Every couple weeks you are on call 24/7 for an entire week.
Pros
Great benifits, 401k and profit sharing.
Cons
on call and dealing with customers that dont want to pay.

stressful, horribly managed owner has no clue
rebuilder (Former Employee) –  DowneyMay 20, 2013
I worked there for 5 years. first few were good, greedy backstabbing people (still there) trash talked about the manager and he got demoted they got promoted and all you see is people being talked down to, fired and they laugh about it. they even call it by name( day 20) , which is the final day of each period. and everyone knows your going to be fired days before you do. new regional came in and started hiring his own people, while i was promised a raise 2 years ago they start a new guy with my promised raise. needless to say it is a horrible place to work.

A poorly managed branch, with even poorer training.
Sales (Former Employee) –  CarlstadtNovember 10, 2014
You can expect a long interview process of up to 4 visits. You may be lucky enough to get a month of training on route, please be aware that this is clearly not enough considering the amount of knowledge needed to preform at their expected standard. You can expect to be lied to, and to start every year off with a pay cut. You will be asked to obtain a CDL class C with an H endorsement, expect nothing more for obtaining this rarity among the companies employees (although it is stated as a requirement). Their policies are only enforced when management feels the need, polices are more suggestions than law. You can expect great camaraderie between the drivers, and a slow building resentment for management as suggestions from most of the drivers, for improvement in procedure are routinely ignored. Also look forward to long hours, a hard to understand paycheck featuring 5 different pay scales that, in three years I never heard explained satisfactorily to anyone who asked.
Pros
Decent healthcare benifits, profit sharing, 401k and a payroll deducted savings account with a very good interest rate.
Cons
High employee turn around, hard to understand pay rates, poor training.

Great company for career growth and work life balance for your family
Management (Current Employee) –  Oakland, CAJanuary 10, 2014
I was in the restaurant business for two decades and was looking for the next career move with a better work / life balance. If you are looking for a company that strives to fill its ranks with personable, talented and hard working employees you would fit right in at Auto Chlor. The company ownership goes to great lenghts (and expense) to train its employees (6 weeks or more) for most positions.

We are up early in the morning but home most evenings (and weekends) for dinner with our families which I never had before working in restaurants.

Good benefits, affordable health plan, aggressive retirement package and paid time off accrues from the 1st day of work.

The best testimonial for working at Auto Chlor is to count the amount of employees who have worked here for 10+ years or more (and there are a lot of them company wide).

No regrets. I plan on working and growing here for a very long time.
Pros
Competative Pay, Training, Paid time off and affordable benefits

Great company and awesome work enviornment with excellent benefits!
Admin (Current Employee) –  Downey, CANovember 18, 2013
This is a great company to work for. What I love about this company is that they are family-oriented and they invest time in training and developing their employees. They will provide you with the support you'd need to succeed at your job. There are a lot of career opportunities here; they promote from within!! There are guys who started out as Service and Sales Reps and are now branch managers or outside sales reps. They value their employees by providing excellent health benefits, vacation/sick and paid holidays, 401k, profit sharing, and annual company events for their employees and families.

The interview process is lengthy with multiple interviews and a ride along, but that's because they take their hiring process very seriously and don't just hire anyone who apply. They want to make sure the position is a fit for you and that you're a fit for them.
Pros
good pay, training is provided, opportunities for growth

Great Experience Overall
Admin (Former Employee) –  Seattle, WANovember 25, 2013
I had worked at the Seattle branch for 4 years and it was truly a great experience.

The work environment is young and fun, but still promotes a high level of integrity.

Like any job, there are days which can be challenging, but the camaraderie between management and staff keeps you motivated. Management is translucent and encourages you to learn and grow. I found the company as a whole, provides a lot of support not just to staff, but also their families.

Benefits offered is a huge plus and the various company outings throughout the year are a bonus. Great place to work!

What a Team to be a part of!!
Regional Manager (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CAJanuary 14, 2014
If you'd like to be part of an organization that is successful, stable, has great values, offers a good work / life balance, cares about their employees, cares about their customers, pays well, has great benefits, has great leadership, offers growth opportunities, allows you to have job satisfaction, etc...............this may be your place. I've worked for several companies where the best you can hope for is to show up for a pay check. This is not that place. A culture of caring, achieving, improving, and wanting to be the best is what Auto Chlor is all about. Great place to work!

You get what you give
SSR (Current Employee) –  OregonDecember 18, 2012
Auto-chlor is a different kind of company. They take some time to hire with lots of interviews, patience is needed. Once highered they provide you with lots of training. Giving you tools, a vehicle, and all the sales tools necessary.

Just like any job management is different. Some managers are very help full while others only look at numbers.

As a branch its all team work. Others are there to help you lern and grow in a fun safe environment regardless of how long you work there. Auto-Chlor does not believe in seniority. Some move up fast. Otheres do not. Its all about how much you want to give.

The hardest part of the job is hours. Its very demanding and takes a lot away from the family life. When being highered they take you and your spouse to dinner to make shure you are all on the same page. You are on call for a week every couple months. You also have lots of sales pressure, money collections pressure, and lots of goals that must be met. Most route drivers have over night trips every other week for 2-3 days. Meals and lodging paid for. You start early. Servicing dish machines and selling cleaning products.

You get out of this job what you put in. Its a blast reaching goals and solving what looked imposable. You deal with amazing people from different cultures and see lots of fun towns. Lots of customers give you free food.

Benifits are good medical, dental, vision, life, and disability. They are expensive.
Pros
every day is different. good pay.
Cons
long hours.
