Exciting place to work. Rivals google on the inside
Collection Analyst (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – May 8, 2013
Pros: always changing and leading the industry.
Cons: better guidence from management to accomplish goals.
You arrive to a covered parking 8 levels. In house training for both personal and professional growth. Management could use some help on their specific roll. Co-workers become your second family and truely care for one another. Having to turn off service to the customer and impacting the compensation to our sales reps. hardest thing to do. Most enjoyable – more... abiltiy to help and make a diffrence to each customer when on the phone, in helping them with past due balances. – less

Pros: money
Cons: dictatorship, high stress, never leave on vacation you will regret it
Company is hard core on monthly quota. No rolling average.Hit goal or your out. It's a crapshoot if you land in decent area and manager is good? Average rep stays 2 years

AutoTrader.com
Regional Creative Coordinator (Former Employee), Tampa, FL – April 9, 2013
Pros: big company
Cons: unless you are in sales, there wasn't much growth opportunity.
Creation and placement of add banners on their website. At first my position involved dealing with the sales force which I found very enjoyable.
After a while the position changed dramatically and there was little creativity left in the job.

Seemingly fun environment but not so
Designer (Former Employee), Atlanta, GA – January 4, 2013
Pros: company name on the resume, cool break room
Cons: management is terrible
This company is not a good place to work for a designer. The design manager is the worst manager to work for. Two employees quit due to his micro managing style.

ADVERTISING CONSULTANT / OUTSIDE SALES (Current Employee), Brea, CA – October 18, 2012
Pros: great expense account, friendly reps, can take clients to angels and lakers games
Cons: even if you sell your quota the chargebacks/negative will not allow you to make your quota.
The company has AMAZING benefits and they are a top competitor in their field of online automotive advertising, however you never feel like you have true job security and often feel like you are continually trying to keep your clients from cancelling their monthly subscription fee or going out of business, because if they DO cancel/go out of business – more... you are starting your next month off with a negative and you have to sell out of that negative. Sometimes it can be up to 12k and you are realistically selling 1-2k per month. Several reps have been fired for not hitting quota even though they ARE selling well above their minimum quota--specifically because they have dealerships go out of business.) – less

you do not want to work here
Account Manager (Current Employee), Atlanta, ga – October 17, 2012
When I first started, this place seemed lke a great company but not so much anymore.

There is not fair opportunity for advancement.
2% or less raises annually regardless of if you are a top performer or not.
I don't understand why people are awarded employee of the month for doing their basic job functions but when you go above and beyond outside your – more... regular duties no one recognizes you.
My supervisors ignores all emails and has a dictatorship style of leadership.
It takes an act of GOD to approve PTO requests even if you submit them months in advance. I had friend that had to attend a funeral and my boss threatened to fire her if she took time off.
Every aspect of your job is micromanged. – less

The BEST online automotive advertising/marketing company ever!
Advertising Consultant (Former Employee), Seattle, WA – August 22, 2012
I loved AutoTrader.com ~ its values and processes; the people in and out of management, as well as my teammates; most of my client dealers; and the atmosphere that ATC fostered of being "The Best!"

The hardest part of the job was turning it off at night or on vacation. My personal work/life balance wasn't the best.

The most enjoyable part of the job – more... was getting that elusive sale from that difficult dealer that's put you off for so long!!! The feeling of accomplishment when you've written a big sale, or helped to get the team over a goal. Love that feeling!

I also enjoyed working from home for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was the autonomy to set my own schedule; the convenience of my home office to my territory; and the freedom from office politics, which I don't do well nor like! – less

The Dot.com that made it. Innovative company that's constantly searching for the next best thing in advertising
Regional Supervisor (Current Employee), Atlanta,Ga – June 18, 2012
Pros: the pay, recognition and celebrations
Cons: top heavy management with conflicting ideas, never stick to a pilot often changing the business focus.
A typical day at Autotrader.com is fast pace and ever changing. I've learned a lot being an employee of Autotrader.com. One of the most unique things was being able to learn all the backend workings of Internet advertising.

Overall, management is very top heavy. It's because of this that the lines of communication gets crossed sometimes causing confusion – more... and therefore negatively impact the working experience for our frontline.

My co-workers are a great group of people. We meet daily to work through obstacles and ensure we meet daily objectives set for our department.

The hardest part of the job is dealing with our outside Sales team as customers instead of partners. This often adds more time getting to the root cause and delays resolution for the real customer (our paying dealers).

The most enjoyable part of my job is the company's culture. Autotrader.com fosters a learning environment and really listens to and care about the frontline employee. This is the first company i've been with that makes every attempt to maintain a culture where you would recommend a family member to work. – less

Good place to work, great people
Senior Project Manager (Current Employee), Atlanta, GA – June 15, 2012
Pros: nice building, second floor game room, good benefits, smart people
Cons: noone can make a decision
New leadership regime - seem to care about the people. teamwork, collaboraton are key. Decision makers are few and far between though and everything has to be socialized to death before a decision is finalized.
