AVI-SPL wants to win the eyes and ears of its clients. The company designs and installs videoconferencing systems and integrated multimedia audio and video systems. Customers include corporations, universities, and government agencies. It serves commercial clients in such industries as health care, hospitality, and financial services. Projects have included upgrading the audiovisual systems of the Budget Hearing Room of the US House of Representatives and the sound system at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. AVI-SPL also sells and rents equipment and offers event management and production through its Creative Show Services. The company has more than 30 locations across the US, with an international office in Dubai.
AVI-SPL's expertise also extends to managed conferencing services, operation center design and installation, project management, as well as cabling infrastructure installation for voice, data, and video systems.
The company began focusing on building its video related revenue in 2009. By 2011 such revenue had grown to more than $200 million, with video being part of more than 50% of AVI-SPL's projects. Hot on the heels of that success, in 2012 the company acquired video managed services provider Iformata Communications, founded in 2004. The purchase expands AVI-SPL's service feature set for more comprehensive coverage of its customers' video communications needs, as well as enhancing the company's market differentiation.
The company was formed when Audio Visual Innovations (AVI) merged with Signal Perfection Ltd. in 2008. AVI was founded in 1979 by AVI-SPL executive chairman Martin Schaffel. – less
