MANANGER - LIFE PRODUCT SUPPORT (Current Employee), West Des Moines, IAApril 18, 2014
Pros: work/life balance, benefits, volunteer opportunities
This company was very focused on the happiness of the employees, and was voted one of the top 10 places to work in Iowa for the last 3 years. They allowed employees to volunteer without taking Paid Time Off, the benefits package was fantastic, and they cared about the employee's well being.

The management was unlike anything I have ever seen. All the – more... way up to the CEO, you could approach them in the hallway and they would treat you like they'd known you forever. None of them acted like they were better than anyone else.

This company made you want to work your hardest, because you cared about company so much. Not that all of us wouldn't have worked our hardest anyways, but the company just made you proud of the work that you did. – less

Pays well, no opportunity for advancement
Compliance (Current Employee), West Des Moines, IAJanuary 15, 2014
The company is pretty laid back and a nice place to work but if you have any ambition may as well just forget it. Its big enough it is easy to get put away in a cubicle and forgotten about. They do not focus on retention or advancement of employees in any capacity.

a great place to work with engagement, community service and willingness to support your education
Sales and Distributions Specialist III (Current Employee), Topeka, KSJuly 25, 2013
Pros: parking, flexibility, bonus structure
Cons: room for advancement
Involved daily with personnel around the country discussing sales concepts and practices. Most difficult part of job is working with difficult customers immediately attacking organization and diffusing the situation. Reaching a mutual understanding, teaching without pointing out fault and increasing sales is most enjoyable part of the job. Co-workers – more... make the team tremendous and are a true asset. – less

North America Technical Support and Training Lead (Current Employee), West Des Moines, IAOctober 10, 2012
Pros: working from home, working with multiple people in different regions
Cons: micro management
Supporting users from U.S ,Canada and the U.K. with SharePoint 2010. Including but not limited to team site design, custom workflow/web parts in SharePoint Designer 2010, publisher support and training as well as InfoPath 2007/2010 development and training. Be creative is an important part of the position here at Aviva because it is a hosted environment – more... with Microsoft. Management is pretty easy going and flexible so working from home is an option and something I prefer. – less

Great building to work in. Great people to work with.
Manager, Accounting Operations (Former Employee), West Des Moines, IAMay 22, 2012
Nice building and great co-workers. The volume of work was very challenging. The level of difficulty was not. Very mundane work day after day.
