A professional, fun, work place
Area Leader (Current Employee), Springdale, OHNovember 5, 2014
Pros: allowing and entrusting me to use my talents to make a positive impact daily
Cons: when work slows down due to seasons
A typical work day would be multi-tasking, prioritizing, and executing to make sure all job duties are complete. you learn how to be patient, listen, observe, and to be very hands on. Management has an open door policy and they encourage and bring out the best in all associates. I will take that with me where ever i go. The work environment is a professional – more... environment I would say there is no hard part about the job, I believe there are challenging part about the job, which would be trying to find good temporary associate who take pride in their job and remain positive and professional through their year assignment. The most enjoyable part about the job is the pursuit of maintaining a positive environment. – less

One of the greatest companies I have worked with over the last sixteen years. They give you all the tools to succeed and believe in yourself.
Independent Sales Representative (Current Employee), Tucson, ArizonaNovember 3, 2014
Pros: great products, meet new people.
I love selling Avon. The sky is the limit. I am selling top of the line products for all ages including products for men, women and children. The management team is always available to help. Avon believes in people and provides the tools one needs to succeed. I get to meet all types of people with diverse backgrounds and education. Every day is a new – more... opportunity to meet someone new, learn about new products and help those around us. Everyone knows the Avon brand and appreciates having a sales representative that cares about them. I enjoy my customers stories and look forward to showing them new products. I have sold Avon for sixteen years as a second job; however, in the last year I have worked full-time and quadrupled my sales and clientele. I am one of the top sales people in my division. I love setting up for large events and fundraising. – less

Sales Representative.
Independent Sales Representative (Former Employee), Santa Maria, CAOctober 21, 2014
Pros: trips, new cars.
Cons: not making anything
I can honestly tell you Avon isn't a place for me. It was hard making money plus everyone i knew was selling Avon. So i never got any customers. They didn't really teach you how the business ran and what your suppose to do and how to make your money. I didn't enjoy anything about Avon. I'd rather buy Avon from someone else then to sell it.

Able to use my fashion and cosmetology skills to help people
Customer Service/Sales Associate (Current Employee), Birmingham, ALOctober 20, 2014
Pros: fashion advising
Cons: the work is mostly home-based.
As an Avon Representative, a typical day of work is pretty much staying very dedicated because it's basically my own business. Everyday I make phone calls to customers (new & old), keep myself informed on what's going on in Avon of course from business opportunities to what's new, when I'm out and about, I pass out Avon books, hand out my business cards – more... in order to gain new customers, advertise my business; such as wearing Avon products & leading people to my website. Upon receiving a shipment from Avon, I immediately bag my customers' orders in order to deliver them in a timely manner and take new orders.
I have learned that definitely I have a passion for fashion and I enjoy helping others when it comes to fashion and make-up. I am my own manager/boss, but the hardest part of my day is knowing that I have a college degree in education from one of the finest universities and not being able to put it to use unless I got a straight-out fashion degree. I feel that my degree and previous teaching experiences in education should lead me to an excellent opportunity of further helping people in fashion, such as managing a clothing store or teaching a fashion/or cosmetology (make-up) class. I really wish that a fashion company would notice my talent and ability to become some sort of fashion advisor to more people because when it comes to myself I feel very limited to Avon. I love Avon, but I feel limited because like I said earlier, I have a college degree.
The most enjoyable part of my day is providing customer service. I really love being very fashion forward from head-to-toe (stylish hair, perfect make-up, well coordinated outfit with stylish accessories & shoes, and polished nails (hand & feet). – less

Convenient hours plus free products every now and then
Sales Woman (Current Employee), San Antonio, TXOctober 13, 2014
See my work history for my typical day at work, I learned that the customers I trust aren't always going to buy a lot of products every time I get a new catalog and that I don't want to sell to strangers because I don't know them therefor I don't trust them therefor I don't make as much money as I'd like, management is fine, co-workers don't exist you – more... work alone from home, hardest part of the job is being lonely and bored because I have no co-workers and the wear and tear on my car and how much faster my gas goes, most enjoyable part of the job is the money I get to keep and when we have meetings/conventions/luncheons and getting free products every now and then and getting to model items from the catalog at the conventions... – less

There is little balance when you work at Avon. Management is demanding but unwilling to supply what is needed to succeed. This is not a job but rather a LIFESTYLE

Great experience and met lots of great people.
Personal Sales Representative (Former Employee), Heath Springs, SCOctober 11, 2014
Pros: getting to see everyone.
Cons: didn't make much money.
I loved selling Avon products. Meeting new people, customers and other Avon Reps, was very rewarding. We had monthly meeting so we could all share ideas and keep morale high. The hardest part of the job was finding new customers. But, you just had to keep your business on your mind at all times and promote it every time you met a new person. So it wasn't – more... bad at all. The most enjoyable part of the job was on delivery days I got to see all my customers. It was so much fun keeping in touch with all of my customers. – less
