For the Type As
Accounting Manager (Current Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAJune 27, 2017
As a Type A, I love this company and culture. Very American and Big 4 attitude: work hard, play hard. Occasional late nights and weekends for major projects and issues, but great group of smart and motivated people that are also "in it to win it". Benefits are standard and HR does a decent job of cutesy celebrations for employee satisfaction (e.g. candy bars and baseball tchotchkes for National Babe Ruth Day - who knew that was a thing?!) but the real benefit is working with equally smart people who don't point fingers and simply "gitterdun".

Used to be a fun place to work
Sr material handler (Former Employee) –  hilliard, ohioJune 1, 2017
This was a great job and after DuPont spun it off, the people who were left in charge at the actual plants were a joke. It will take years for them to change the mindset and culture around there. People literally just go in and work a 8+ hour shift just to collect a paycheck.
When I first started there, this place was great. It just got worse and worse every year.
Pros
pay is pretty good once you get your foot in the door
Cons
managment

Depends on who you work for
Lab Technician III (Current Employee) –  Wilmington, DE 19803May 23, 2017
Depending on who you work for will make a huge difference here. There are some scientists who are very demanding without understanding what the job entails and there are those who understand what you can accomplish in one shift. A typical day is not stressful, unless you are the type of person who likes to get involved in gossip. There is a lot of gossip that goes on, although there are the usual culprits that spread it/engage in it, and avoiding them will let you avoid most of the gossip. But overall the job isn't very hard and it pays well for the title. Bonuses are a joke, raises are laughable and promotion is non-existent (a lab-tech can only be a lab-tech, there is nothing higher without a MS/PhD, only degrees of title from Lab-Tech I to Lab-Tech IV then Sr. Lab-Tech V and VI). But if you are content with just being a lab tech then this could be the place for you.

instrumentation electrician (Former Employee) –  Mount Clemens, MIMay 11, 2017
Too disorganized. You get a work order and if you cannot finish job perhaps it may be given to you in a month or more to finish. Or to someone else to finish. Not very efficient way to run the department. They should leave same people on job don't need to keep changing.
Pros
lunch once in a while
Cons
Poor management in maintenance

Supply Chain (Current Employee) –  Glen Mills, PAMarch 29, 2017
Interesting work, zero work life balance. Culture supports the constant fear of being fired. Perfect place for those better at work politics than actual work. Unless you are of Asian decent its not a welcoming environment for minorities or women. Check out Glassdoor.com

Accounts Payable & Distribution Associate (Current Employee) –  Reno-Stead, NVFebruary 15, 2017
My work day consists of handling any A/P duties I have first, then working on our Fed Ex shipments. Throughout the day I will usually have 1 or 2 A/P issues that come up that need my attention. Any supplies needed are ordered at the end of the work day.
Pros
AM start, weekends off, short commute.
Cons
Lack of tech support from business and deteriorating work conditions and moral

Work Environment
North America (Former Employee) –  Mount Clemens, MIDecember 12, 2016
The work environment is great and at the same time very challenging. No two days are the same. Since this is a 7/24 site you were never really off. The job required that you anticipate the needs of the plant and it people before the issue became an emergency. This required you to plan for infrastructure replacement, as well as work with all departments to identify their needs and work on making them projects. The support of all personnel in the plant was fantastic, and their willingness to be involved made it easy to do the work necessary to meet their expectations.

Great company to work for
Electrician (Former Employee) –  Toledo, OHAugust 28, 2016
I worked at the Toledo plant which was great. It was through a recruiting firm. They used to be DuPont and the plant I was at was basically a retirement home. The guys were awesome to work with. They all made great money, but me being through a recruiter made about a third of what they were making with no chance of being hired in and zero overtime. Other than that, if you can get your foot in the door with the company itself, it's definitely a place you can call a career and retire from
Pros
Relaxed work environment
Cons
No chance for advancement and no overtime

They need to weed out those that cannot change
Exempt (Current Employee) –  Front Royal, VAAugust 26, 2016
Management is pretty much a bunch of "good 'ol boys" from the DuPont era - probably why they are for sale now too. The new managers are trying to make it better but don't stand a chance against the "club". Sad part is we are losing good people.

We may have made it 35 years but at this rate maybe only another 8-10 at best.

Pay and benefits are good but the overall work atmosphere is terrible, full of bias and shooting from the hip rather than using any kind of data to make change or improvements. Plant Management tells you to go work at WalMart if you do not like it.

Avoid unless you have to or just until you can get out of this sight - although that is hard as advancement is few and far between.
Pros
good benefits and pay
Cons
terrible top plant management

Upper management= Na zis
Production Worker (Former Employee) –  Front Royal, VAAugust 18, 2016
The pay is decent but the constant rotating of shifts, the forced overtime, and the fact that employees must know their role and shut their mouths and bow down to upper management in all things makes this the worst place within 100 miles of Winchester to work at. There are "clique's" in each department and if you arent a part then silence is golden. If you respect yourself at all, stay far away.
Pros
Benefits, pay
Cons
Everything else especially the lazy upper management

Beware
HSE Specialist (Former Employee) –  Front Royal, VAJune 30, 2016
Great when still DuPont, now run a la 1950s style management, which goes well with their 1980s it management. Great pay and benefits, but employees are only incentivized on a personal level and make poor choices related to the good of the business, or staying ahead of the game. Every category of anything has its own manager and they don't talk to each other. They are also not afraid to turn employees to scape goats. Some good departments, but senior management a good ol boys club that glosses over real issues.
Pros
money, lower level employees, on site cafeteria.
Cons
Everything else, especially work life balance.
