Community Representative, San Francisco, CA - March 11, 2016
My job was to find qualified host families for students, and to go through the process of getting them vetted and oriented to being a host family. I supervised the placements while each student was on program. I made monthly contacts with the students, and the host families, as well as periodically with the schools.
I was the first person in line to work through problems and issues. I had periodic social events for the students and/or their host families.
I worked under a Regional Manager, who was there to give guidance, and to support me when there was a need.
I loved working with the students, host families and schools.
Since this was my first year, I had many things to learn, about regulations, etc., as well as about relating to the students, etc. It was really the first time I had had much contact with international teenagers. I began to learn a lot of about different cultures, and that was wonderful.
