SALARY: $30,000 to $35,500 USD per Year
This position provides financial aid counseling and assistance to current and prospective students, determining student financial aid eligibility and verifying financial aid information. This position provides support to the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid in aiding students in the completion of the FAFSA, developing student aid packages, and data entry as required. This position also creates and implements new and innovative ways to education students on their student loan. The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of knowledge as related to postsecondary student financial aid to include a sound understanding of the provisions of the United States Department of Education Title IV rules and regulations. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are critical as this position requires daily contact with students seeking financial assistance to obtain their educational goals.
Demonstrate knowledge of all college programs, admissions process and general knowledge of financial aid software.
Demonstrate understanding of financial aid programs and application processes to assist potential students.
Determine student financial aid eligibility and verify student financial aid information.
Create financial aid packages.
Provide financial aid and loan counseling to current and prospective students.
Develop innovative ways to educate Azure College students on loan debt.
Participates in college enrollment/registration process/admissions events.
Collaborates with the Billing Office staff to insure timely delivery of funds to students.
Co-monitors student Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for financial aid recipients.
Meets with students to resolve funding questions or related issues.
Handles direct loan and alternative loan processing.
Assists Director of Admissions and Financial Aid and the Financial Aid Administrator with daily financial aid office operations.
Attends conferences and webinars to maintain knowledge of Federal and State regulations.
Co-supervision of Student Workers.
Additional duties as assigned.
1-2 years of professional Financial Aid experience in the For-Profit sector preferred
Extensive knowledge in the use of word processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)
Excellent written and verbal communication along with customer service skills
Ability to effectively manage time, outgoing, self-motivated and work independently
Must pass background check
CONFIDENTIAL: Student Records and Financial information
TRAVEL: Will travel to Azure College Miami and Sebring Campus at least twice a quarter.
HOURS: May require up to 50 hours per week. Hours are Monday and Thursday from 9 AM - 6 PM and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 AM - 7 PM. Weekend and evening work required.
SALARY: Salary plus Full-time benefits.
