I was a previous employee of FMC United Defense LP
Now owned By BAE Systems in 1995 i was caught up in RIF in the ground systems division San Jose Ca As a Union Employee my time there was 15.5 yrs Building Military Track Vehicles M113's, P-7's LAAV, Bradley's, MLRS's, All used in the gulf war and still being used as you read this note
I attended in January a job fair and was selected for interview in Feburary then sent an Offer letter for rehire starting March 10th this year. after passing physical, eye, hearing, and drug screen, i then waited for 7yr background check to clear? Looking for felonys?. Orientation was to follow next.
On March 10th i recieved a rescind of the offer letter with no explination or contact from anyone in the hiring process, unfortunately. My background check did show 2 misdameanors and this must be the reason for no further contact from the company?? what i did notice was that the offer letter was from the facility where i would have worked in California and the rescind letter was sent from Bedford Park IL two different locations but one in the same.
My qualifications have not changed capable of performing the work, I am still looking for employment

Do you work at BAE SYSTEMS? How did you find the job? How did you get that first interview?
Any advice for someone trying to get in?

I'm writing this just to warn others that when they offer you a job, they expect you to take it. If you don't accept it, they'll never reconsider you for another job in the future.
I interviewed with BAE early this year for an image analyst job in DC. They offered me a job for the same amount of money that I make now and I would be working rotating shift work with BAE, which I've never done and have heard it's awful. My boss where I worked at the time happened to promise me it would get exciting since we're starting a new division and I'd do meaningful work and how they'd need my expertise, blah blah blah. So rather than starting over again, I decided to stay and take a chance to stay with the current ocmpany. I have my own office where I am and I'm sure I'd be crammed into a room with 20 people and no privacy with BAE anyway. Besides, it would be for the same amount I was making at the time with rotating shifts? Ugh. My sleep is bad as it is. I had to humbly turn down the job offer with them.
Eventually I ended up regretting my naive choice to stay with the current company. I called the recruter(s) back and apologized, saying the job didn't turn out as I was promised. Guess what BAE did? They said all the jobs were filled (NOT true!) and then blacklisted me from being hired again. Even independent recruiters contact me saying I'd be perfect for BAE and they want to get me in with them. Then I tell the recruiters that I think I've been blacklisted and won't get hired. The recruiters chuckle and say that's not true (of course) and then present my resume to BAE and I never hear back from the recruiter again. That has happened to me 4 times. I don't even get responses back from the recruiters via email, which is odd. That's never happened to me when a recruiter doesn't even respond via email.
If BAE seriously is this crooked, I may as well have gone back with Booz Allen Hamilton.

What do you think -- is this company going to survive and thrive? Are they looking to expand their staff, or do you think layoffs are inevitable?
How does BAE SYSTEMS stack up against the competition?

It's always hard to know what to expect when going in for that interview -- and preparation can make all the difference. What is the interview process like at BAE SYSTEMS?
Any advice on striking the right note?

Hi, my name is Patrick Flynn and I'm a Executive Recruiter with AIM Executive in Toledo OH.
I have a client located in Northern OH who is a profitable and growing concern that needs a Manufacturing Engineer. As a manufacturing engineer you will be responsible for machine process capability improvements and studies, cycle time improvements, machine tool design and project analysis. AutoCAD and a Bachelor's degree in engineering is very strongly preferred but an Associates degree with a demonstrated track record in process improvements will be considered. CNC machining in a high volume production environment is required.
My client likes to hire bright, sharp and intelligent people who are enthusiastic about their job and think out of the box.
Relocation assistance is available. Please contact me via e-mail at pat@aimexec.com

Every business has it's own style. What is the office environment and culture like at BAE SYSTEMS?
Are people dressed in business casual, jeans and t-shirts, or full-on suits? Do folks get together for Friday happy hours and friendly get-togethers?
What is a typical day in the life of an employee at BAE SYSTEMS?

I am a recent college grad and I have a bachelor of science degree. My major is Economic Crime Investigation with a major in computer and network security. My problem is that every where I go I am told the same thing over and over, "We are looking for someone with experience." How am I supposed to gain any experience. Its been almost 4 months since I graduated and still no promising job prospects!!! I am 30 years old with a family and a mortgage. I went to college so I wouldn't have to perform physical labor intense jobs because of a back operation. Right before graduation I was laid off after 4 yrs as delivery person with a local lumber company. I though it would be easy to find a good job with a BS degree!!!!
