Productive and influential company
Welder (Former Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLMay 23, 2017
Working BAE for was definitely a positive experience and a great start to beginning a profession career. A typical day for me would consist of an early morning meeting with supervisors, to go over our plans and lay out for the day. Next to safely begin our work until our job is safely completed. What I learned at BAE is how to manage and create from base working with metal, and how to properly handle equipment. The management team is Awesome and consistent in assuring that proper conditions are successfully maintained. The workplace culture is very comfortable and quality, and friendly. The hardest part of the job would be the heat, but the most enjoyable part of the job the pay and being able to work in a success and determined group of accomplished workers.
Pros
group actitivy
Cons
heat

Highly responsible place of business, which makes you feel that you are worth you weight in gold. Pay and benefits surpass many other companies, and the reputation of the company is considered outstanding by most every customer.

WELDER (Former Employee) –  Aiken, SC 29805May 21, 2017
Overall it was a very good place to work. I have very few complaints. Only left due to shortage of work and threats of layoffs for current employees.

Decent Workplace. Easily stuck at same level
SCA Electronics Technician II (Current Employee) –  MarylandMay 19, 2017
Decent workplace, however, you get stuck with no promotions unless you threaten to leave or you know someone. People who deserve promotions and awards do not receive them. People who do not deserve them always get them.

Average Company in average industry
Engineer (Current Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXMay 18, 2017
BAE offers a wide variety of opportunities in a variety of defense projects and your experience will differ widely based on which subsidiary you work for. Overall benefits are getting reduced year after year and the company has been unable to address job retention for young professionals. Pay is slightly above average but other benefits such as college tuition assistance, paid time off, insurance, etc. are below industry average. Work is often challenging and generally rewarding.
Pros
Good work life balance, Compensation, Challenging Work Environment
Cons
Company benefits decline year after year and are below its peers in the industry

If you live to work this is the place for you, if you work to live you better think twice.
Administrator (Current Employee) –  MichiganMay 13, 2017
The work load is very hectic and the hours are long, too long for many and most work off hours and off days as well. A lot of departments are understaffed. There are never ending meetings. They have a mixed lot of managers from very good to very poor, and many in between, but again they are mostly all in meetings all the time. Communication down to employees is good but upper management does not listen to employees up.The work is interesting and satisfying but you never feel accomplished because there is just so much and the metrics are always mentioned as what hasn't been done yet instead of ever relaying to employees how much HAS been accomplished. Many tools to get the job done efficiently are slow or out dated but processes are constantly addressed and evolving for the better.
Pros
Compensation is good, they offer a lot of extras if you could only find time to participate. The staff is very diverse.
Cons
Hours are exhausting, you never catch up with assignments, never feel accomplished at the end of any day, week or month.

Technical writer (Former Employee) –  Chesapeake, VAMay 11, 2017
Requirements were clearly defined, and leeway provided to produce documentation. References were provided as needed. There was a genuine sense of supporting the troops, and a good team spirit among the writers.
Cons
Problem with different computer settings caused firnatting to go awry.

There should be a integration program for employees being assigned overseas. I had to figure everything out on my own. My local manager was never around.
