BTA Transportation is a growing transportation / trucking company based in Fultonville,NY, dedicated to providing refrigerated and dry transportation to some of the top suppliers in the region . We’re looking for a full-time Controller.
The Controller is responsible for daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounting tasks and activities. The Controller directs and coordinates the daily activities of the Finance department to accurately records revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities of the company. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the timely collection of A/R, payments for A/P, and payroll. The Controller is responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and budgets.
3-5+ years prior supervisory experience in accounting and financial reporting.
Manage all AR/ AP
Manage payroll and benefits plan
Oversee company T/E expenses and expense reporting
Track sales commissions
Maintain general ledger, financials records, depreciation, and deferred revenue
Manage cash flow including reviewing budgets and scheduling of payables
Identify potential company cost savings and suggest methods for saving
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close of books
Monitor compliance with bank covenant, reconciliations and annual bank audit
Work closely with the outside CPA to file taxes and ensure timely year-end close
Develop and implement internal financial controls
Oversee Operations Manager’s work (vendor relations, expense reporting, contract reviews, contract drafting, onboarding)
Mastery of Sage 50
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to analyze financial data and provide feedback
Ability to work independently with little supervision
Experience establishing financial policies and procedures
Strong interpersonal skills, able to create rapports with with staff, customers, and vendors
Professional written and verbal communication skills
