Variety of work daily. My boss taught me to be detail oriented, a team player, and most of all the customer is NUMBER 1. The hardest part of the job was that I had employees coming to me for HELP because others weren't helping them. I enjoyed helping people because if I was in that situation, I would hope someone would be doing the same for me.

I really enjoyed the upbeat environment of Bally's, and the hands on environment.

Since the Company has sold 3/4 of the Clubs the spirits of everyone have not been great. Morale is down unfortunately.

Be in commincation with as many Customers ans Team members as possible throughout the day. Each day is an adventure.

Bally failed tremendously in coaching their General managers with skills to motivate staff. GM's used scare tactics by stating each day how your job or position would be in jeopardy if you failed to make your daily numbers. It was difficult each day coming in to work dealing with negative remarks that were thrown out by GM"s. The Atlanta market was – more...  awful, the clubs were not well taken care of which made it difficult to compete against the other larger health clubs. The prices were great and the commission structure was good but there were many variables you faced day to day that hindered your progress in success. The CEO of the company never toured the Georgia market to see exactly why certain clubs were struggling reaching their monthly goals. GM's worked with little or no integrity and it became difficult to maintain great staff. Staff who worked for the company because they enjoyed their job but disliked the obvious corporate greed. When staff begin to see how members were being manipulated by G M's and their unethical sales technique they began to quit. Unforutnately, in the health and fitness industry there is little or no integrity that is utiltized and the victims are our members. – less

the one thing i can say about ballys is that the customers are awesome and employees other than that the gym wasn't very clean one bottle per floor is not right

Opened every morning and greeted all customers,Processed payment and schduled for aerobics class.I learned how to be a receptionist.The management was great and co-workers were an awesome fun team.There was nothing hard about this job,I enjoyed this job completly

Great place to work. Great benefits. I worked in a fun department but the pay was low, even though it was almost 10 years ago.

All in all, Ballys is a good place to get started in the fitness industry. The people I work with are very knowledgeable in the fitness world and they are willing to help with any problems you may have. The compensation is not the best, but it is a great start if you are looking into being a personal trainer.

started very early to make sure pools and hot tubs were functioning and at proper levels, made many friends and got to work out. company went bankrupt and got rid of maintenance.

Had to quit because they didn't give me enough time off for homework and studying. Always asked but never got any time off. Employees seemed grumpy all the time due to the lack of communication with members.

I was the lead day-care attendant. Working with the parents and their children was a wonderful experience. It is truly sad that many Bally's locations were bought out and sold. Truly a great atmosphere.

Fun and enjoyable workplace. Understood the values of the workplace and had incredible experiences with clients in rehabilitation and reaching health goals!

I started working at Bally in January and got promoted in May. Very fun environment to work in, you get to meet new people everyday and build friendships.

It is a great company to work for, very great to there employees. they need a better pay scale.

This was the smallest ballys in southern california, but it made up for it in being more intimate & personal.
All the members knew everyone, friendly & fun.
