Pros: free gym membership, interesting clients, fun
Cons: bad work environment
I worked anywhere from 0 to 8 hours per day with clients, helping them achieve their personal fitness goals. The management tried to instill a cutthroat attitude in the employees and at times there were too many personal trainers for anyone to build up a decent client base. The clients and members were great, as were some of my coworkers.
I had to balance my graduate research and school with scheduling clients.
Being able to work out for free at a well-maintained gym was a definite plus.
The price the gym charged clients for personal training was too high for the amount that the trainers were compensated (the trainers took only about 40% of the cut)
