Implementing positive change for youth
Substitute Teacher (Former Employee), Towson, MD – April 19, 2013
Pros: helping students to improve to be the best they can be
Cons: substitue teachers; no job security/benifits
A typical day as a substitute teacher is to follow the teachers plan that is laid out for the day/week. Engaging the youth in a positive way so they feel valued. What I learned from this experience is that youth who are having challenges at home have a difficult time following the school system. Although, they grow to appreciate overtime the dedication – more... to help them improve or strengthen certain areas of their life. The staff I worked with was always supportive and helpful. The hardest part of the job is seeing students sabatoge themeselves repeatedly. The most enjoyable part of the job is watching the positive change that takes place in the students over time. – less

Productive and good working environment
Front office secretary (Former Employee), Baltimore, MD – April 5, 2013
Pros: good dedicated people to work with.
Cons: not so much - can't think of any.
A typical day for me as a front desk secretary was usually very busy. I loved helping the students whenever I could and the teachers as well. The staff was extremely friendly. The most enjoyable part of the job was naturally the children. The hardest part of the job was typing up suspensions of students. It broke my heart at times.

Great temp job
Substitute Teacher (Current Employee), Timonium, MD – December 7, 2012
Pros: working with students, deciding when you want to work
Cons: per diem, student behavioral issues can be a downer
Some schools in Baltimore County are stellar. Others are just like being in the city. Be prepared to laugh and to pull your hair out when disciplining some students. Always call for back-up when a situation becomes too hard to handle.

Impacting someone life
Substitute Teacher (Current Employee), Baltimore, MD – September 19, 2012
Walking in the school building ready for a day full of excitement and children, some ready to learn others not ready to learn. The teachers are very welcoming and always willing to help. The hardest part of the job is getting the children who dont want to learn to a point where they want to learn. The most enjoyable part of the job is impacting someone – more... life. I love it but I am looking for a FULL time job. – less
