independently working very satistifying.
Picc RN/Tele/Med/Surg (Former Employee), Mesa, AZDecember 18, 2014
Pros: gradifications of aiding patients get better
Cons: wished that they would of told us they were down sizeing
Typical day we would have 3 to 4 PICC orders to do per person and also iv start calls all through the day. I learned to the art of inserting picc lines and proficient use of the ultrasound for iv starts as well Picc lines. The management was always changing. They were trying to get a permanent charge nurse. Co- workers worked individually and also were – more... there to help with difficult starts, or just to call for a reference on a case or a questionable placement on a x-ray. Leaving this position, was the hardest. I loved the gratification it gave me knowing I was with the patient aiding in the future progress to good health. The unit was being downsized, people getting moved around or sometimes out of this unit – less

Cohesive teamwork with a fantastic manager
HOSPICE RN (Former Employee), Gilbert, AZDecember 18, 2014
I looked forward to going to work. The in patient unit was fast paced with new challenges daily. My co-workers all knew their roles and we functioned as a well oiled machine. We were a work family, we laughed together and cried together and truly cared about each other The hardest part of the job was seeing the grief that family members felt when their – more... loved ones past. I believe I made a difference in their lives every single day. A kind word or gesture, listening to them tell their stories and occasionally sharing my own. I give kudos to all my coworkers who gave 100% all of the time despite their own trials and tribulations. It was a great place to work. – less

Fast Pace,Wonderful Doctors
FRONT OFFICE REPRESENTATIVE (Current Employee), Sun City West ArizonaDecember 2, 2014
Pros: n/a
Cons: no breaks
Answering phones, checking out patients, scheduling patients with specialty departments and medical imaging. Learned to handle 8 primary care doctors schedules and rescheduling when necessary. How to defuse an angry patient. Make their exit very pleasant. Co-workers, we all have our assignments and work as a team. The hardest part is when we are short – more... staffed getting everything done in a timely manner. The most enjoyable part is working with the patients. letting them know you care and when they Thank you for going the extra mile for them and when they come back they remember my name and stop and say Hi to me. – less

Banner Health is an honorable organization to work for and has a great patient care reputation with good benefits,
Admin Assistant (Former Employee), Phoenix, AZOctober 31, 2014
I enjoyed my 17 years in a hospital care setting in various departments. The variety, challenges, people from all walks of life and problem solving were something I looked forward to almost every day. There is no perfect job but there were days I felt like "I truly love it here".

Being retired for one year has proven that I am now ready to resume working – more... again on a part time basis. I am the type of person who likes to be busy. That's why total retirement is not for me at this point in my life. I am a people person.

Most of my co-workers and I got along very well. Seems like I'm the type of person people tell their troubles to and I am sympatheric to their situations knowing my limitations with advice.

I've learned a long time ago confidentiality is extremely important in the working world and life in general. My last position required confidentiality regarding 60 employees files. That info never left the office in any shape or form or word.

I am a self starter and hit the floor running. My computer is open, my coffee cup is full and my day begins before I clock in. I am known for my promptness in preparation for meetings, scheduling and attendance. – less

Forever changing which is the medical industry in general
Administrative Assistant to Six Directors (Current Employee), Mesa, Arizona - Banner Heart HospitalOctober 28, 2014
Pros: forever changing medical industry and opportunity to learn.
Cons: the fast pace day in and day out. some slower days would be greatly welcomed.
My days at work are absolutely never the same. The requests from the Directors, as well as responsibilities change from day to day. This does afford me an opportunity to be continually learning. As in any position, there are some wonderful management staff and some that are newer to their respective positions. This is actually the same for co-workers; – more... some have a great deal of medical experience, while others not so much.

The hardest part of my position would be the amount of requests that are required most of the time with very similar deadlines. Prioritizing is the key and communicating with my Directors. I work at a very fast pace, but have for so many years that I do find this enjoyable. However, there are certainly times that it would be nice to have a slower pace on a day to day basis. – less
