I am still employed @ Baptist, just looking for Part time or PRN position
Registered Nurse (Former Employee), Nashville, TN – June 16, 2013
12 hour day starts @ 0630,provide medical and emotional care to the patient, and also to the families.observes and assesses pt and collaborating findings with physician
learned that pain is subjective,I learned to listen to the patients.
I learned that management , my co-workers and I share the same goal, patient satisfaction, and to achieve that we must – more... work together as a team and keeping the line of communication open
The hardest part of the job is when the patients do not get better,it makes me feel helpless,i feel like i failed my patients.
The most enjoyable part of the job is when the patients stop by to remind you that you cared for them when they were sick. That is very gratifying. – less

I enjoy working at Baptist Hospital My supervisor was great team leader
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Nashville, TN – June 9, 2013
Pros: enjoy making people happy our team will treat when work is outstanding
Cons: not having time to take breaks or lunch
My typical day at work first is first find my patients charts or records and check to see what there having done. Then called them up to my desk and greet them with a smile. And once I find out what there having done, I will explained that they may have copays, deductibles, out of pockets that needs to be met before procedures are done. Time is very – more... important, and Doctors do not like to wait. In Management when working on the back in lots of meetings and presentations, ALLWAYS trying to find ways to make our team more efficient, and budget cutting, My coworkers were great. I am easy to get alone with no conflicts My hardest part of my job is when someone not happy of there insurance or billing situation. The most enjoyable part of my job is when I know patients are happy of there stay by not having to wait a long period of time on results from the front end to the back end. That's my enjoyable day – less

Patient Food Services Rep (Current Employee), Winston-Salem, NC – June 1, 2013
Pros: free lunch
Cons: management
Baptist was my first job and even though it had its ups and downs I did learn something's while I've been working there. for example working together with people not only as co-workers but also as a family no matter how bad the situation at hand is.I also learned how to have confidence in my work ability and always staying positive. a typical day at – more... work is a fairly good day, my usual routine. cleaning and washing pots, picking up dirty trays and busting dirty trays, sweep mop and clean etc., take up trays, come up with and assign certain task if we are short and if need be work on the cold bar. I work with very good co-workers some better than others but we always work together to get things done. the hardest part of the job is probably trying to leave on time. the most enjoyable part of my job is by far the free food. the management could be way better and more organized. – less

RN (Former Employee), Oxford, MS – May 30, 2013
Pros: job security
Cons: working short-staffed
This company does not support its employees in my opinion. The benefits are poor, they hire too many family members within a department which leads to favoritism and unfair advancement practices. They do not staff according to pt acuity and we must work short staffed most of the time. I love my co-workers. They are doing the best they can under the – more... circumstances. The hardest part of the job is getting pulled to unfamiliar floors and feeling like I am not able to deliver the highest quality care. The most enjoyable part of the job is dealing with my patients and the times when I can feel like I've made a difference in their lives. – less

Facilities Supervisor (Current Employee), Nashville, TN – May 15, 2013
Pros: i like the communication with staff.
Cons: always on call.
It is always something different everyday here. The last 23 years it has never been the same day of the same old thing. I never see it as an easy day, I always see it as a new challenge.

Great Working Atmospher
Nursing Student Surgical ICU (Former Employee), Nashville, TN – May 2, 2013
Pros: great learning experience, very fortunate, performed, accomplished so much during my first clinical experience as a nursing student
While completeing my last clinical rotation at Baptist Hospital, I felt very comfortable and welcomed. The nursing staff were eager to teach my classmates and I. Anytime a nurse was about to perform a procedure, that nurse would come looking for one of us students so that we could learn, regrdless of whether or not it was one of our assigned patients.

Enjoyed the great atomosphere/values of Baptist Hospital
Laboratory Information Systems Assistant (Former Employee), Pensacola, FL – April 28, 2013
Pros: team building
Cons: no real opportunity for advancement
My main day at work consisted of supporting all functionality and troubleshooting of the Laboratory Information System (Sunquest). I learned so much about how lab functions as well as all the departments sections (ie: Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, etc.). My co-workers were team oriented and we all worked together to make the lab run smoothly. – more... The hardest part of my job at times was not being able to understand a functionality per a Medical Technologist overview but was able to understand once explained to me by the professional. I just enjoyed learning new and challenging things that came about working on a department such as the lab. – less

Respectable and great environment to work
Histotechnologist (Former Employee), Miami, FL – March 6, 2013
It was great working at the Pathology Lab at Baptist Hospital! When I first started everyone made sure I felt welcomed and a part of the team!
A typical day at work would be very busy, which was good, because I really enjoyed working as a Histotechnologist. Every day I learned something different because I was always doing different things in the lab: – more... I learned how to use the processing machines to process the tissues, the automatic stainer, the immunohistochemistry stainer, the special stain stainer, I also participated in come cytology work. I also spent a lot of time in the grossing room where the Pathologist Assistants were always explaining to me what they were doing and why. They really helped me a lot! I also learned how to make slides in the computer.
My co-workers were very nice and very amicable. They were always ready to help me if I had any questions.
The hardest part of the job was when I had to do something I hadn't done before. The most enjoyable part was that I always did something different. A day working at the lab was never the same, and that is what I loved about my job!!! – less

For the most part, the entire Radiology department acted as a unit. It was a different feeling compared to any other hospital I have ever been in. The employees acted as family.

Medical Files Clerk (Former Employee), Little Rock, AR – February 12, 2013
Pros: nice place to begin my career.
Cons: working alone in a big file closet.
I was in charge of keeping patient records so I didn't really have much interactions with co-workers or patients. It did teach me how to be well organized, prompt, and focused.
