Director of Sales Training (Current Employee) – Valdosta, GA – May 25, 2017
Family owned and operated makes this southeast regional provider a nice size. Big enough to survive healthcare changes but small enough to know all 300 employees. The sales team is super strong and drives the business.
RN (Current Employee) – Gainesville, FL – June 12, 2017
Ability to advance or change roles. Management and Leadership approach all staff and interact. Set schedule Monday through Friday unless your Oncall rotation. Market value pay. Pharmacy has awesome teamwork, management, and truly takes care of people. The pharmacist, Nursing staff and teammates stay competitive and seek new products and care. Company cars and cell phones for positions requiring. Raises are not just given, they are earned. They are possible.
Location, supervisors, pay, schedule and benefits competitive
Mandated insurance or reimbursement changes for patients
Pharmacy Technician (Former Employee) – Valdosta, GA – February 16, 2017
fun fast paced environment! friendly and professional staff. management is ok but could better to resolve issues within the company. The most enjoyable part of the day is helping the patients with their medications
worker (Former Employee) – nowhere – November 7, 2016
People act friendly, but are really are not. They have no problem stabbing other co-workers in the back to cover their, and those in their circle, short comings. Very stressful, unprofessional atmosphere. Little or no training. No help from other employees (they are worried you might take their job or find them out). If you want to advance your career, find another place to work.
Pharmacy Tech (Current Employee) – Valdosta, GA – September 8, 2016
Frustration abounds with little accountability by management for lack of communication between departments. Often coworkers are blamed for management's lacking when in fact the "memo" was never sent in the first place. Very difficult ever to get a raise or advance in this family owned and run business. You can give your all and then some only to be disappointed. Still, if you enjoy working within the healthcare industry without doing direct patient care, the coworkers who also are suffering the same plight, do make this a fun place to work.
Friendly coworkers. Customers in need of healthcare services
Management, lack of incentive or performance raises
Patient Care Technician (Former Employee) – Tallahassee, FL – April 30, 2016
This is not a horrible company. Their problem is while they strive to do a decent job taking care of their clients. They COMPLETELY overlook the needs of their staff. Their basic philosophy seems to be everyone is replaceable. Which explains the embarrassing rate of employee turnover they have had. Raises are a foreign concept at Barnes, unless you're upper management. This is a okay job if you're a kid just looking to make some Summer cash, and move on in the fall. This IS NOT a long term employment job. Too many negatives to make it a career employer.

Barnes Healthcare Services is a great company to work for! A small organization with a family feel, each employees voice matters. Management cares about employee wellness and work/life balance, there is always room to grow if you are willing to put in the work!
Great work/life balance, a smaller company gives you a bigger voice!
Great Opportunity for Political Spin Doctors and Manipulators

If you can talk the talk without regard for walking the walk, this may be the place for you. Rise to power without honor or distinction while simultaneously crushing the hearts and minds of everyone around you. Or, if you're satisfied with being one of the many unappreciated minions that make the company great, go give it a shot!
Human Resources (Current Employee) – Valdosta – July 2, 2015
Barnes Healthcare really takes their tagline "We Take Care of People" seriously. This doesn't just extend to our many clients but also all employees. Management knows everyone by name and they do their very best to make sure we are happy and healthy. The work environment is open and friendly and staff members motivate each other to complete a job well done. I have never worked in a place where building each other up for success was such a priority. When agreeing to work for Barnes, I picked up my entire life and moved two hours away for this opportunity. If I had to make that decision one million times over, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Barnes offers me a bright future with great PTO, full benefits, and 401K matching- not to mention activities to be involved in with co-workers outside the workplace. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else!
Comradery amoungst employees, positive work environement, proactive in employee healtcare, working in a smaller privately owned gives the employee more controll of their job.
IV Pharmacy (Current Employee) – Atlanta – June 18, 2015
Barnes is a family owner and operated and has the care and compassion of a small company. Everyday you see the value of your work and how crucial you are to the team and the patients that we treat. A typical day of work involves coming in, communicating with patients, mixing IV medications, adjudicating billing and interacting with co-workers. Management has an open door policy and interact with all the staff in the office on a daily bases. They don't sit in a grand ivory tower on a hill, they are right there beside you on both the slow days and when things get busy (and like most pharmacies things can get busy). The hardest part of the job here is the learning curve associated with learning the pharmacy system, especially the billing. But this is also enjoyable and gives me more value at my job and is a daily, tractable and numerical reminder of the impact that I am making each day that I come in.
Teamwork, small company feel, great pateint-focused culture

4 words: DO NOT WORK HERE. This was a terrible experience. Managers are awful and the company is very "top heavy", meaning the managers get all the money and do absolutely nothing to help their employees. Pay raises are non-existent and work/life balance does not exist. HR is not helpful because everyone in the company is related and they will always have each other's back, even if what they did is wrong. Many illegal things go on inside this company, but they sweep it under the rug as if nothing has happened. NOBODY is happy working at Barnes Health Care. Save yourself time and aggravation and do not work here.
HR GENERALIST - TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT (Former Employee) – Valdosta, GA – August 12, 2014
Barnes Healthcare Services is a regional company located in south Georgia with locations in GA, AL, and FL. It is a growing company with a few quirks, but some really good people who believe in the company's tag line of "We take care of people."
Definitely provides an opportunity for hard work and personal growth if you are an independent motivated person.
A lot of longevity in middle management. Family feel in most offices.
Growing quickly, company is constantly restructuring to accommodate for it.
pcc (Current Employee) – Tallahassee – March 20, 2014
A fast paced company with a corporate structure but still small enough to care about its employees. Managers are easy to talk too and compensation/benefits are competitive with other companies. Advances within.
open door, open to new ideas, looks to take care of employees
Office staff (Former Employee) – Ormond Beach, FL – March 18, 2014
Company could be a good one if not for management. Management is uncaring. They will exploit your gifts and when you are done, they will throw you to the wolves.
Company could do much good, but management puts unfair expectations on you. They are more worried about numbers and not patients although it is disguised as "helping" others. Competition between stores and constant threats to let you go make for a very stressful work environment.
If you are looking to work for a company like this, choose this one.
good ole boy atmosphere but easy to stay under the radar
worker (Current Employee) – corporate offices – March 7, 2014
fast paced, interesting work company focused on remaining competitive in a tough market the family owned business does care about people it services good opportunity to gain medical and insurance knowledge and enhance resume. swings from incredible micro management to totally ignoring employees .. just no consistency from day to day that defines what management expects
good pto, some people are nice. decent wage for the area, interesting work, racially diverse
benefits are terrible, favoritism abounds, lack of official communication unless you're in the loop. Defines the saying :I didnt get that memo
