A typical day at work for a web associate at Barneys, New York is a very interesting and customer and/or client first environment. As i clock in at work, the first thing i do is go pick up all the customers orders and check our whole inventory for me to pick these items, check orders to verify it is the correct items and help with the packaging, barcoding and bagging the items and get it ready for shipping. I learned that in this retail environment, customers come first and customers are always right and communication is very important in an environment like this. My coworkers are the friendliest but also work first before play, we work as a team to make sure that everything and every item is shipped out on a timely manner. The hardest part of the job would have to be finding these items in the whole 10 floor building, its a lot of brands and a lot of different inventory to look through, but once you get used to it, it is probably the most enjoyable part of it because you get to learn about different brands and you get to see different items and you get to enjoy the business aspect of fashion.
