About Bartlett

Bartlett Nuclear, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Bruce R. Bartlett, who currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Within one month of its launch, the company received its first contract for emergency response services to the Three Mile Island accident. Over 25 years later, Bartlett continues to serve Three Mile Island as the prime contractor – more... for health physics and decontamination services to Unit 1 - a testimony to the company's quality-minded approach to customer satisfaction.

Since its founding, Bartlett Nuclear has grown steadily in both size and stature. Today, with a database of over 30,000 prospective employees and the largest dedicated nuclear workforce in the U.S., Bartlett has emerged as:

The #1 supplier of radiation protection personnel and decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) services to the U.S. commercial nuclear power industry, and
An industry leader in providing nuclear-related technical and professional services to the U.S. federal government and the largest supplier of radiological control technicians to the U.S. Department of Energy

Yet another measure of Bartlett's growth is the number of employment opportunities available to its people. Bartlett provides over 5.3 million person-hours of support to its clients each year - employing up to 3,500 individuals at any given time to support over 100 contracts throughout the United States. Many of these engagements involve hundreds of employees working on long-term assignments.

Bartlett's growth through the years is largely due to its ability to expand its services by establishing a "family" of companies to meet its customers' radiation protection challenges. In 1983, just four years after its own launch, Bartlett Nuclear formed Bartlett Services, Inc. to provide equipment, material and service technologies designed to reduce man-rem expenditure and radioactive waste. In 1992, Bartlett established Plymouth Mechanical to deliver mechanical maintenance services to the U.S. nuclear power industry. In 1994, Bartlett established Bartlett de Mexico to deliver its products and services throughout the private sector of Mexico's nuclear industry. EXCEL Modular Scaffold and Leasing Corporation, the exclusive manufacturer of the patented EXCEL scaffold staging system, joined the Bartlett family in 1996. Three years later, Bartlett launched Bartlett Support Services, Inc. to supply mechanical maintenance and craft personnel to union shops in the commercial nuclear power industry. Most recently, Bartlett formed Team One Mechanical Services, LLC in 2004 - an alliance of five leading companies dedicated to providing best-in-class solutions for cost-effectively minimizing outages and maximizing the reliability of plant operations.

In January 2004, the Boston-based private equity firms of Berkshire Partners LLC and Summit Partners made a substantial investment in Bartlett - further confirming the success and financial stability of the company.

Today, Bartlett's in-house professional staff represents over 200 years experience in the nuclear industry. This staff includes two Certified Reactor Health Physicists, three prior NRC Inspectors, three former NRC Regulatory Guide 1.8 Radiation Protection Managers, two past Chairmen of the NRRPT Board of Directors, a former Director of Maintenance and Construction Services, a former Senior Advisory and Deputy Chief of Staff to a past U.S. Energy Secretary and a former Senior Vice President for a large environmental company.

Headquartered in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Bartlett has offices in Connecticut, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Idaho, Oklahoma, Colorado, Nevada, Washington and Florida to provide regional assistance in ensuring complete customer satisfaction. – lessMore from ZoomInfo »
