CD5 Construction Equipment Coordinator

SCOPE:

This role functions within a 1 day to 3 month time horizon while supporting the NS Construction Superintendent and the North Slope Construction Supervisor(s) and assisting the Contractor execute the work with a focus on HSE and efficiency

1. Direct Accountability - fully accountable for the output

HSE - Reports to Construction Superintendent

Perform jobsite walk-downs during jobsite visits.
Participate in Contractor toolbox and weekly safety meetings when on site.
Review Contractor Task Hazard Analysis (THA)/Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/Job Hazard Analysis during jobsite visits.
Perform safe performance recognitions during jobsite visits.
Input pro-active measures information into a participation database.
Coach/mentor the contractor foremen and craft to comply with HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices to ensure best possible HSE performance.
Understand and enforce adherence to all permit stipulations.

Training - Reports to Construction Manager

Ensure all compliance training is complete and up to date.

Data Retention and Management - Reports to Construction Manager

Ensure all files, information; e-mail, etc. are in compliance with policy regarding records retention.

Execution - Reports to Project Leader

Verify Contractor equipment utilization, as required (daily, weekly, monthly)
Participate in the pre-job meeting.

Schedule - Reports to Construction Supervisor(s)

Review Contractor equipment plans, as required.

Budget and Cost - Reports to Construction Supervisor(s)

Review Contractor billing for accuracy in regard to equipment.
Review Cost estimates and provide input, as assigned.

General Duties - Reports to Construction Superintendent

Perform daily tasks, and complete other duties as assigned by the Construction Superintendent to support the CD5 Project.
Facilitate discussions regarding equipment and equipment usage.

2. Indirect Accountability - affects the decisions of others

HSE - Reports to Construction Superintendent

Safety Leadership - Commitment to an incident free workplace is paramount. Demonstrated safety leadership shall be initiated through attendance and participation.
Advocating a zero incident culture
Provide weekly input to the Predictive Indicator tool.
Contribute to weekly Contractor Safety Management, craft safety, and daily toolbox meetings.
Participate in Safety standups/downs, as required.
Participate in incident investigations associated with assigned projects, as required.
Participate in safety assessments.
Participate in weekly Spill Prevention Meeting
Monitor and report Contractor work crews compliance with JSA/JHA requirements

Responsibilities

Provide pre-mobilization inspection of light duty equipment to ensure equipment meets arctic readiness guidelines.
Verify daily mobile equipment utilization. This will require on site witnessing of equipment usage.
Develop and maintain excel spreadsheet to track equipment utilization.
Communicate with Contractors on equipment arrival and departure issues and concerns.
Work with Contractors to optimize timely demobilization of equipment.
Routine visual inspection of both mobile and stationary equipment to assess spill containment and any signs of fluid leakage.
Promote best practices with regards to spill mitigation.
Conduct Weekly Equipment Utilization Reconciliation Meetings with the contractors.

Required Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Alaska Driver's License.
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Working Knowledge of various types of construction equipment and its performance.
Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, to include producing, proofing and analyzing reports.
Ability to learn and adapt to various computer programs is essential.
Initiate and follow through to completion on a variety of projects.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills a must.
High level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred:

Bachelor Degree.
Military Experience
Prior Alaska North Slope /Alaska Oil & Gas or Construction experience
Strong demonstrated leadership, communication, public speaking, ability to influence, and organizational skills.
5 years of experience (including education) in the automotive equipment industry

Term: 12 months

Work Location: North Slope

Work Schedule: North Slope Rotational / As needed to support the project
