Patient Coordinator/Lab Tech (Somerville)
The Bedford Research Foundation is seeking an Laboratory Technician and Patient Co-Ordinator.
This position will be the backbone of the Foundation's daily operations. They will work closely with a small, friendly staff of medical and research professionals to perform routine laboratory duties as well as co-ordinate patient visits and care, schedule appointments, ship specimens, and organize necessary meetings and schedule for Foundation staff. This position should have excellent organizational skills, a willingness to develop and maintain systems for sensitive data retrieval, have office and laboratory experience, have extensive patient care experience, and be able to work with a very very busy team on a day to day basis to get projects and task accomplished. They will be also be responsible for billing and follow up on patient accounts, and must have an excellent understanding of accounting practices and procedures, while being able to work within confidentiality constraints. This position also serves as a catch-all position for Foundation business overflow, and may help with fundraising, other research projects, and related office tasks. Must be extremely self motivated and require very little input after initial training is completed. This is a perfect job for somebody who is honest, can follow instructions, has a friendly demeanor, and is not upset by a fast work place with many balls in the air.
This is a full time position (40 hrs per week) with health benefits.

Phlebotomy experience preferred
BS in Biology or related field of study a must
Experienced laboratory technician
Outstanding office skills and experience
Strong communication skills
Computer literacy: email, word processing, data entry, internet searches. We have a Mac based facility, but have found that those who are good with a PC can make the transition easily.
Ability to work independently - we have a small (but efficient) staff, every member of our team must be able to set their own goals and stay on target with their productivity.
Outstanding patient care skills
Ability to follow instructions specifically
Desire to do a great job within the constraints of necessary confidentiality systems put in place to protect patients
