When bad things happen BELFOR USA steps in to clean up and repair the damage. The company provides disaster recovery and property restoration services to businesses and residences through some 80 offices across the US. Services include reconstruction, drying, fire, storm, and water damage restoration, emergency power, mold remediation, semiconductor services, and data recovery. Subsidiary DUCTZ International provides air duct cleaning and HVAC restoration services. Additionally, BELFOR USA provides consulting and pre-planning services to help minimize potential problems its clients might encounter. Founded in 1995, BELFOR USA is part of global group Belfor International.
BELFOR USA has expanded its service offerings over the years by acquiring other restoration firms such as DUCTZ International (acquired in 2007). In 2010 it acquired Michigan water remediation specialist Coach's Catastrophe Cleaning & Restoration Services. In 2011 BELFOR bought Clean Sweep Restoration Services of New England, which became the Connecticut division of BELFOR.
In addition to structures on land, BELFOR is involved with projects on the sea. BELFOR Technology, the company's marine and offshore arm, restores ships and other vessels around the world.
BELFOR USA has been at the center of many of the nation's biggest catastrophes. The company mobilized more than 3,000 disaster recovery workers to Mississippi and Louisiana to help with the cleanup after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. It was involved in the restoration of about half of the high-rise buildings in New Orleans. More recently, tornado and wildfire damage has kept BELFOR USA busy.
In 2011 BELFOR USA unveiled its mobile command center, a 53-foot-long, two story-high tractor trailer. The unit is equipped with computers, satellite towers, a conference room, and auxiliary shelter space. – less
