Bell Helicopter
Senor Stress Analyst / Contract (Former Employee), Hurst Texas – May 4, 2013
Pros: new lunch room with lots of food options
Cons: parking lots are alway full
In general this is an excellent place to work. Management was reasonable with work load and project deadlines, but being late was not an option.

The hardest part of the job is that sometimes you may be given a nonworking design that someone with less experience else has been working on for an period of time and be expected to make it work properly – more... in a short period of time due to the approaching deadline.....

In summary , Bell has great subject matter experts in about all areas of helicopter design, if you are interested in Helicopters this is the place to be. – less

Good place hard place to stay at!
Tool Crib Attendant (Current Employee), Grand Prairie, TX – April 29, 2013
Pros: great benefits, no consistency in workload between shifts
Cons: uncertainty of job longevity, no communication within upper management
its a good place to work if you have seniority within the union thats the most difficult thing here besides the rumors of layoffs and the actual layoffs themselves but that is the nature of the business.

Making progress but not there yet
Manufacturing Engineer (Current Employee), Hurst, TX – April 10, 2013
Pros: six sigma training program
Cons: lack of diversity in leadership positions
Bell has made strides in the last couple of years but it is still very much a "good old boy" culture. The company is also in the process of updating its business systems but the transition is slow.

Bell Helicopter is a very large corporation and resistant to change
Manager (Former Employee), Fort Worth, Texas – April 4, 2013
Pros: pay, compensation, vacation, and sick time are very competitive with aerospace industry
Cons: health benefits are very expensive
Bell Helicopter is a very large, mostly military cultural business. As such there is much resistance to change and change happens very slowly. Bell strives to be the employer of choice in the community, but the actions of many people in management is hindering this objective. Otherwise, Bell is a non-hostile place to work and there are a lot of good – more... people at Bell. – less

No advancement for women!
Stockroom Clerk (Current Employee), Roanoke – April 1, 2013
I feel there is no advance for women at Bell. They are still stuck in the 50's. As a company it has not evolved in 30 years.

Pro's: good pay and insurance and union(but they are going down hill)

Con's: micromanagement, hiring old men with narrow minds, there is NO zero tolerance!

H-1 Mechanic Assembler (Current Employee), Amarillo, TX – March 29, 2013
Pros: good pay
Cons: health care benefits, short lunches, not challenging enough
if you would like to do the same job over and over and not worry about layoffs this is your dream job. its perfect if you have a family they will work with you on a lot of thing. Management is very fun to work for. Co-workers are just very talented mechanics and have taught me a lot. There really isn't anything hard about the job.

Certified Inspector (Current Employee), Amarillo, TX – March 10, 2013
Pros: no advancement, college means absolutely nothing
Cons: see above and very poor pay
