Direct Support Professional (Former Employee) –  Clarksboro, NJJanuary 20, 2018
There were never enough staff. There was terrible management. The workers never ever worked together. Overall I would never suggest this job to a friend. The pay was okay but was not worth the job duties. There was never a chance to advance in the company. Just don't bother

okay job. poor pay, lost of overtime to make up for. Hours are long (12 hours) poor management. They do not take people into consideration, lots of favoritism. Not the best company to work for, residents are treated poorly. Its not the company.. its the people working for it. Animals.

I've learned to have patience with individuals with special needs. They are so much fun to work with once you gain their trust and have a good rapport with them.

Not worth the headache
DSP (Direct Support Professional) (Former Employee) –  West Milford, NJNovember 19, 2017
You get a chance to learn the job. The residents grow on you. But the stress of it all far as director & assistant are habitual liars, actually getting the assistance you need to better care for the ones in your home, actually going home for once and so forth. It's NOT worth it.
Pros
amount of OT
Cons
Lack of professionalism

Bellwether Behavioral Health is an organization full of potential, however, there are some struggles in the area of effective management. Lack of advancement in the company. The organization's culture has to be improved, amongst many others.

Ridiculous company. Ask for top tier prices then do not provide any service or quality to the people supported. Program director is paranoid and lies habitually. It is impossible to get anything done.

The worst company you can ever work for
DSP (Direct Support Professional) (Former Employee) –  West Milford, NJSeptember 6, 2017
The moment anything goes wrong they will blame you throw you under a bus for you to the wolves and then fire you. It's an embarrassment that they actually called himself a company helping individuals. They take their money have them living in bad conditions and then work the staff to death. It's a nightmare
Pros
A lot of OT
Cons
There is no way to maintain this job without having to quit or be fired at some point

Direct Support Professional (Current Employee) –  West Milford, NJAugust 29, 2017
You gain a ton of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. You learn a lot of crisis intervention skills as well as patience. The direct care staff are over worked and under paid. There is so much expected of staff and all the sudden changes are overwhelming.
Pros
Overtime, Pto
Cons
low wages & upper management needs to take staff opinions into consideration
