I was told that I was expected to answer emails 24.7. I was not "allowed" to take vacation per my regional. If I was not working a minimum of 60 hours a week I would be spoken to. I took my daughter to the beach, had a non essential call out ( a server) and i was written up for not leaving the beach to cover the server position( a 3 hour drive). The corporate culture is to drive executive directors and department heads into the ground, while trying to pay front line staff the minimum they can and compensating them with employee programs which only front line staff are eligible. These are usually in the form of "spot awards" aka as bribes the company uses to get employees to cover callouts, of which there are many. What, you don't want to work 2 peoples jobs at 11 dollars an hour? They have no problem allowing some staff to work 2-3 shifts in a row.(very safe when your lifting fragile residents huh? The only thing this senior housing company cares about are its profits. If you are a marketing person, stay clear as the rates are approximately 2-3 thousand more a month (WITH DISCOUNT) than your closet competitor. 10,000 a month for an assisted living?
This company PREACHES integrity to the people that work for it. All i saw in my 5 months with the company was backstabbing, no ownership at the higher management levels, micromanagement so extreme it should be given its own word, and general disdain for its workers.
