About Benco Dental

Benco Dental Supply is a one-stop shop for the tooth doc. With more than 50 regional showrooms and five distribution centers, Benco provides dental and dentistry supplies to more than 30,000 dental professionals in 40 states. Its BencoNET division develops and distributes custom computers and proprietary programming and networking systems for dentists. – more... Other services include dental office design, practice consulting, financing and real estate planning, wealth management, and equipment repairs. The company has more than 420 sales representatives and nearly 300 factory-trained service technicians. Benco is named after founder Benjamin Cohen who started the company in 1930. The Cohen family controls the company.

Benco tends to expand its operations through organic growth, offering new products and services to a wider customer base. Marketing its products and services directly to dental practices, the company offers inventory management and online ordering options and supplies more than 85,000 products including dental cement, impression supplies, and curing lights made by manufacturers that include 3M, Dentsply, GC America, Crosstex (a Cantel Medical Corp. company), Hu-Friedy, and more. It also sells products under its own Benco Dental brand. Benco offers large and small equipment from a broad range of manufacturers. Although most of its operations are in the US, the company also ships products to overseas customers.

Organic growth may be its primary growth channel, but the company also grows through acquisitions in key growth regions. For example, to expand in the Midwest, the company purchased dental distributors Dynamic Dental Solutions (Oklahoma) and Holliday Dental (Kansas) in 2009.

Benco Dental moved into its CenterPoint headquarters and showroom in Pittson, Pennsylvania in early 2010. CenterPoint is one of the largest dental equipment showrooms in the US with more than two dozen operatories, 14 operational digital X-rays (including 2D and 3D units), three sterilization centers, oral surgery, laboratory and orthodontic exhibits, an office design concept suite, and a training and education center with capacity for more than 100 people.

Benco Dental's practice management services include help with recruiting staff, coaching programs to help dentists learn how to run a program, peer-to-peer networking, and continuing medical education. – less
